Course Curriculum Overview

The course structure of our college is based on CBCS( choice based credit system). We have 4 subjects per semester and 1 exam per subject per semester. We also have a few test and presentations for internals marks which consists of 25 percent of final marks. Final exam holds 70 percent value while attendance holds 5 percent. The exams are not that frustrating because of normal class test keeps the subject matter of the subject flowing through our mind throughout the semester. We also dont have any labs in B.Com program, so this course is not that frustrating at all. Meanwhile the subject options that we have are very diverse. We have complete freedom to choose subjects according to our preferences which makes education intresting.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 10000 per year

Placement Experience

The placement cell do provide a lot of jobs and internships. But they have very strict guidelines. One of the most arbitrary rule of placement cell is black listing. This means that if u any how fail to show up to any stage of any company's selection process. You will be black listed for a 2 next company. Which means you can not sit in for next 2 companies.

College Events

Reverie the annual fest and zistatva the diwali mela are the centre of attractions.At the same time our college holds so many seminars workshops and educational fests.Commerce association of our college comes up with a great fest every year.Students and faculty members contributes to their full potential.

Hostel Facilities

Accomodations are not provided by our college. Hostel services are not offerred by many colleges of University of Delhi.There are a plenty of pg available near college. You can get a decent pg for Rs. 14000 to 15000 per month along with meals.

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Admission

Well because of cut off system of DU. I safe sided my self by taking admission in PGDAV because i got admission in that college of DU in first cut off list. Later on by next few cut off when the percentage fell down i was finally eligible for gargi college. Since i was interested in commerce during my school days i preferred to obtain a bachelor's degree in commerce. There were no special examinations or interviews that i had to go through for B.com in gargi. When finally the cut off list was in my favour i filled up the admission form and got an appointment for document verification. So i went to college on the day and time that they decided with all of my documents and undertaking. They verified my documents and calculated my marks by considering only top 4 subjects.After my documents were verified i had to pay the admission fee online. One of gargi's faculty walked me through the online payment.

The Faculty of our college is so industrious.Most of our college faculty holds a PH.d degree in their respective fields.They teach in a very cordial way.The lecturers are so warm, friendly and helpful.A balanced relationship can be seen between the students and faculty members.

the whole reason i chose jims kalkaji is beacuse of placements it is popular for placements it offers multiple placements after your 3rd or 4th year of specializtion different multiple companies come here to pick students.

The college provides a good acedemics foundation and opptunities for overall development. being Part of delhi university also give student exposure to different events

Dislikes

some classroom and campus facilitues need improvement
placement oppotunites can be improved, esecially for student looking for better corporate exposure.
the evening college schedule can something be inconveibient because many acitvity and oppotunities are generally more accessible during regular college hours

Life at South Campus

Likes

The crowd at venky is great, diverse crowd.
The campus is well maintained and is one of the bests at DU.

The course provides a comprehensive image of finance and management, though after NEP, the curriculum seems a little irrelevent. The exams are conducted twice in a year, 2 sems per year, they conduct mid sem exams as well.

Likes

College is improving day by day teaching faculty is also helpful it recently got A++ NAAC credition as well
Overall college is good if you have good peer group.
Near to north campus so doesn't really feel much of headache if you want to visit regularly.

Dislikes

Shadara is not a good place to spend your college life.
Evening college crowd has made the reputation of the college bad.
Near by area is not safe for Girls in late hours.

Placement Experience:

6th sem is the first time college placement are proceeded . Companies are not impressive and mostly are entry level jobs such as cold calling and such which they offer. Highest package was 4 lpa and avg was 2.5 only. Around 60 percent students gets placed.

The online learning platform is easy ans simple to use students can acces lecture and assigments and study materials anytime
Faculty mambers provide clear guidance through online sessions and study materials they are supportive
They procides recording that was very usefull when we will not attend the live class

Dislikes

Since the classes are in online and also there are some techical issues while taking classes that will interupt classes
placement support is limited in online classes so students need to search for internships and job oppertunities on their own
Its deffecult to connect student coordinators while we wnat exam timetable etc they are too slow

I choose BCOM because the want to take ACCA after BCOM it will helps to improve my career and give a better job and also BCOM is the basices of ACCA like law, financial managment, taxation etc .The curriculam provide strong fountation for students who wamts to pursue higher studies such as M.COM , MBA and professuonal couses. i dont like any thing in this college

there is a green gaurden in my colleges old campus
we have a big ground in our college which i like i can play football there
they make an football ground in old campus which is good

techers are not good in teacing they just want to let it go the classes
my college was too small and the classes are not properly furnished for my class size
there is no place for sit in the shade or to make our mind diverted or have fun and the canteen is worst of old campus

i am from commerce background i want to do eco honers but in 12th i dont have mathematics so i cant then i decideid for b. com honers but i aloted the b.com program which is my 3rd priority umm i leanrd new things in my ncc and with my friends there are very less college activities to i dont know how to make my college life good and make some experiences they can make us travel with them to the real buiseness or any factory or a relay paper work from any company i want to do a camp in jab which is good for my ncc life but it is during my exams thats why i cant did that camp yet

i liked their faculty member and staff , they are played with students and taught as a friend
i liked canteen service and their foods it is hygienic but canteen infrastructure is not good
i liked their ground its have bollyball court basketball court badminton court and cricket ground also and they provide gym in college

i didn't like their campus because its not too much big
and college provide which lift service is not working properly
their bathroom is not too good and not too much hygienic

i choose bcom hons and all teacher are provide their 100% on their courses but neet to improve in practical exam because some computer not working and teacher teach students in one computer but there is no difficult paper according to time some time it's lengthy.
