This college is a central goverment college and is generally known for its legacy of producing a very reputed alumni who are generally every where in this field and at all high position.This college is most reputed college in its field.

This college is knowledge and descupline driven.Beside the study it also develops officer like qualities which also improves the personal life.The institute is a practical training institute of merchant navy where your sea based knowledge is enganced for better future officer of the sea.

Placement of this college is good in comparison to other goverment college.Generally the stregth of the batch is about 150 and by the time you are graduated around 100 students gets placed and rest of the 50 hane to struggle little bit visiting the comnies on your own.almost every one gets placed within 6 months of graduation.the compnies that visits the college are NYK lines,FML,PIL,MOL,DOCK &DALE,EXMAR and few more.

The inter college sports meet are conducted every year which includes several game like cricket,football,basketball,TT, various athelatic sports and other games.stundents are also sent for various campuses for participating in many activities organised by Indian maritime university and by other institutes like D Y Patil.Cultural fest is also conducted once year which includes various project making,painting,presentations and cultural activities.

The programme fee is 675000 for 3 year B.Sc nautical science course and 300000 for 1 year DNS course.almost every mode of payment of fee is accepted like Nift,DD, and by transfer.Additional fee is exam fee that is 3000 per semester which you can pay by transfer or DD.yes the college is transparent about fee its same for all.

To be eligible for scholorship you have to be in top 50 in university exam the first ranker is paid INR 100000 and next 24 are paid 75000 and the student ranked from 25 to 50 are paid 50000. The schlorship amount is paid in the parent account by college.No form is to be applied for schlorship only you have to do is to be in top 50 in university.

The capus life is totally like the army personnel,with a bit lower strictness level.You have to wake up at 4 am in morning and follow diffrent activities like swimming,PT,drills,fall in and many more.you have to spent your most of the day wearing uniform.the girls ratio is very little say 5 in the 150 batch.There are various workshop related to this prticular shipping field like MEACS,ECDIS,GMDSS etc.Here neither the gender nor the economic status infact nothing matters,everyone have to go through same rules and training.

This college is a residential college and ataying in the hostel located in the campus is must.As i have told you that this college is all about practical training there is no option for Day scholars.The fee structure i have discussed above also includes the hostel fee.No extra fee is to be paid for hostel, its 675000 INR for 3 year stay and study.

Yes the senior junior bond of the student is much concerned,even a 10 year senior is in touch with you and keeps visiting the college.There is also a alumini online portal of the university in which you can talk to your seniors and juniors and take help whatever is required.they are very helpful.even i am in touch with many seniors who have passed very earier.

I got admission in this college through entrance exam called IMU CET. The exam process was compute based test(CBT) and was pretty average question.I opted this field because its a diffrent field its give opportunity to explore your carrier in Merchant navy field.

Generally the faculties in this institution are ex captains who are heighly experienced in this field,they had spent their most of job life at sea.The valuable exleriance of caltains makes you a good sailor and shows the pros and cons of this field.The average age of the professor are about 50.Some faculties who are not captains deals with normal subjects like human resorce develovement and all,but the core one are delt by captains.
