I preferred the Modern college of ganeshkhind because of its top preference for biotechnology courses. This college has performed exceptionally well under Department of Biotechnology (DBT) activities.The admission was merit-based with 50% min in PHY, chem, maths, bio. And admissions were merit-based with no cap rounds held. The college staff has been really patient and helpful during the admission process. With every inquiry answered and every detail about the course made clear. The admission process was fast and done within a week. The college prospectus was well detailed with the activities performed for the gain of credits, the co. curricular activities by the students, the sports facilities made available to the students, and overall infrastructure provided along with the hostel facilities. An introduction session was held for the teachers, students and respective parents briefing the moto of the college and the way exams would be held, and how the internal assessment would be mapped

The Department of biotechnology provides the courses of B.Sc and M.Sc (Biotech) with a well built-up area. There are instrument rooms, media preparation rooms, and separate inoculation and incubation rooms for animal and plant tissue culture. A separate well-equipped laboratory an instrument room and culture rooms are available exclusively for conducting M.Sc classes and practicals. A well-equipped separate research laboratory in the department advanced for conducting ongoing research projects. Qualified, skilled, dedicated staff including research guides with experience in interdisciplinary sciences. Apart from regular classes guest lectures are held by experts, seminars, exhibitions, and quiz competitions, etc. for the overall development of students to develop vibrant academic ambiance and to develop a sense of achieving excellence, and to develop scientific temperament with an approach of social responsibilities and teachers paying attention to students individually with continuous assessment.

The students get to participate in a large no of activities to socialize well and to enhance their knowledge as the College is star rated under DBT(Department of Biotechnology ) activities. The college is also approved be ARIIA, NIRF. This improve their chances of grabbing more opportunities to study for a higher degree in the top institutes of India as well as abroad . The students studying here are highly qualified and can get into the well known institutions of Boston, Sydney ,USA etc. The college is associated with the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology , Australia 2 .RASA life sciences, Pune. 3.) Applied Nanomaterials pvt limited , Pune, etc. The students get to study the field by being the department incharge, research assistant , general manager , director, industrialists , biologists, environmentalists etc.

As a student in the Modern College and being a biotechnology student, the College is star rated college under DBT (Department of Biotechnology) . The students getting out from here also get into Boston , Sydney and other well known institutions. I plan to complete my M.Sc Biotechnology and go for the industrial biotechnology in a drugs and chemicals field.

The fees alloted for the Bsc. Biotechnology is 52 thousands for 2 semesters i.e per year .And students are allowed to pay in installments or two halves. The scholarships are also provided by the college as it is affiliated to the university. The scholarship provided are 1.) The college also provides opportunities for the students to learn and earn by working in the college campus itself for the alloted hours.The college also gives opportunities to the student being academically well to study abroad into the Royal Melbourne Institute of technology , Australia, RASA life sciences institute ,Pune and Applied Nanomaterials pvt.limited.

The college provides the students with a wide variety of sports. Including basketball, football, cricket, table tennis, and chess. Apart from the regular sports, the college also has cycling clubs. The students interested in trekking can enroll themselves in their respective clubs. The students are also taken for field visits and industrial visits to know the surroundings well. Apart from the regular lectures, the students are also involved in competitions like quiz debates, PowerPoint presentations, creative writings, poster making, mad ads, sketching, etc. The library provides the required books for the students in a large number and also the extra study material along with the reference books. The college arranges for the guest lectures from time to time and also the counseling sessions. The Avishkar fest was conducted on a large scale for a scientific approach. The College is associated with an Inner wheel club for social services like tree planting, fun fairs for the unprivileged, etc
