Remarks
The management was good, but there were larger expectations from them regarding campus placements provided on their part.
Course Curriculum Overview
Yes, the course curriculum was quite relevant, with related practical works and projects. I had to complete a project paper alongwith it's thesis. Though most of the curriculums designed for study nowadays aren't really job oriented, still some students got selected in whatever on-campus placements were conducted by the college. But it's worth mentioning that it wasn't sufficient for all the students taking part in the on-campus placements.
Placement Experience
For the matter of placement drives, there were only a very few companies that visited the campus, TCS was the only renowned company to name. They followed the normal recruitment processes, but only lesser percentage of about 20% to 25% of the students got placements every year from the college campus, which wasn't satisfactory. Besides, there wasn't too many special steps taken by the college to prepare the students for the placement session.
College Events
The college used to conduct yearly fests in which some good cultural events used to be conducted by the management. They were quite big regarding their grandeur and some students used to participate in them. The college management used to spend quite a lot in this regard to attract the students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The semester fees were expensive. It was Rs 45000 per semester. The college accepted both bank to bank as well as hand to hand payments. No there was only an additional charge of Rs 10000 required to be paid during admission which was refundable. Yes the college was transparent in the fee breakdown.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, such scholarship was provided by the college for the students and I don't think there was any eligibility criteria for the same. There was no such soecific amount provided for the scholarship.
Campus Life
The gender ratio was about 7:3. The campus life was quite good. There were some workshops conducted on projects but not enough. Though on the whole, the management, the staffs, the students were well balanced with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status.
Hostel Facilities
No I didn't opt for hostels. But I heard from the students those who used to stay in the hostel that the rentals were quite high and the fooding was quite average, not upto the mark considering the high fees paid by the students.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network wasn't great, with the juniors getting negligible help or interaction with the college seniors, which according to me, was the biggest downpoint of the institution.
Admission
I got the admission through Post Graduation Entrance for Technical Education. I chose to study in the college due to a good campus location and qualified faculties in my time. I took my admission based on the merit list ranking that I obtained in the examination.
Faculty
The faculty of my college were quite qualified and possessed enough knowledge in their respective departments. In my course, there were about 10 professors with an average age of 45 to 50 years. They held good industry experience and also had a good teaching experience as well as expertise.
