Remarks

The factors that drove me to take an admission in Christ were its high rating, student friendly campus and teachers, exposure to diversity since students from varoius parts of the world study here, library facilities, Skilled faculties etc The best thing I liked about my college was the various co curricular programs conducted. It was a great platform to exhibit my existing talents and also I discovered new talents in me. I got a chance to interact with people from various parts of India and around the world ehich actually improved my communication skills and knowledge. There are helping hands to strengthen us including teachers and a strong Alumni Association. I opted this course because I wanted my career to be commerce oriented as I found that my skills are linked and correlated with this. Also a BCom graduation from Christ boosts our priority in every place we go rather than a BCom from an ordinary College.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Our syllabus is very well updated with subjects like Business Analytics, Entrepreship Development, Research Methodology etc. We were provided with industrial visits every year of our undergraduation course. It was indeed a wonderful experience seeing things which we studied happening practically. The faculties are very well trained and qualified. Every faculty holds a PhD and a minimum working experience of 3-5 years. Dr Tomy Kallarackal,Dr Anand ShankaraRaja, Professor Alice Mani are a few of my favourites.

Internships Opportunities

There was 2 compulsory intersnship for me to complete before graduation. The first one was an NGO internship and the second one was im South Indian Bank.I didn't have any stripend but there were a few Friends of mine who worked with stripend in other companies. If I am not wrong there were few companies like KPMG which came to college to hire interns. One of my friend was absorbed to work after her internship.

Placement Experience

5

There is a separate department exclusively for placements. The placements start with final year of the degree programs. There will be placement representatives from each final year class by whom the communications regarding placements ate transmitted to the students.People eho are looking forward to get placed can register for it and they will have a separate whatsapp group to get notifications regarding placements. Also a mail will be sent to our university email ids. Allmost everybody who opts for placement gets placed eventually. The alumni is also providing job referrals to the students.Jugu Uberoi is one of the notable alumnis who visits the campus often and also takes classes for the students on career guidance. There are a lot of ithers alumnis also who has come to us and talked about their experiences. Students aspiring to become Enterprenures are provided with essential support, we even a had a subject to boost the entrepreneur inside us.

College Events

5

In word I can say that the campus life was splendid. There are a lot of events ehich our college helds starting from Darpanamd ending with inblooms. These are national level fests conducted by Christ and it witnesses participation from the top colleges from all most every states. There are other departmental national level programs also conducted.Prayas and Mitige were the fests of Commerce department. Praramb, a fest which is exclusively conducted for the first year students to get an idea of the entire programs happening.

Campus Life

5

The infrastructure of Christ just awesome. There 4 blocks and one block exclusively for reaearch which is currently under construction. The ain auditorium is the main attraction with centralised Ac and can accommodate 2000-2500 stidents at a time. There are facilities like library, wifi etc. There are two libraries U G library and a common library. The entry to library is remote acessed only by swping ID cards. The books can be held for approximately 2 weeks and failure of return will fetch a fine of 5 rupees per day. The wifi is provided for all the students only for their laptops which has to be configured in the campus. The wi-fi is provided for educational puropse, so the entertainment browsers are blocked. Since I am a commerce student I font have muchidea about the labs but as far as I have heard from my fellow mates from other departments the labs are well equipped with latest machines and technology. There are many IT labs and i dont know the exact count.

Hostel Facilities

5

I was staying in a hostel which was run by the nuns. It was not the colleges hostel. The college provides hostel favilities for both males and females and the seats for it are less so others opt a hostel outside the college or PGs. My hostel was at a walkable distance from the college. It was pretty good in terms of food, infrastructure etc. The curfew was 7pm. Dont worry if you couldn't get a seat in the college hostel, there are a lot of PGs and private hostels running nearby. So getting an accomodation is not a big deal.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.
