Remarks

Shri Shikshayatan College is one of the best girls college education centre in Kolkata.It ranks among the top ten girls colleges. It has great faculty. It has facilities like good infrastructure, greenery, cafeteria, games, sports and a great library.

My course page on Canvas displays a series of notes, such as "attendance," "grade policies," "course schedule",etc. The faculties of Shri Shikshayatan College is great. The teachers not only focus on strict academics but also make it fun learning. Yes we are provided enough industrial exposure.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 133200 per year

Internships Opportunities

I opted for an internship in Filmyloop company as a Sales Executive. It is a performance based internship.

Placement Experience

The college provides placement opportunities in the final semester, and it does conduct training programs on soft skill development. But the number of students getting placed is currently less. It can be improved.Top recruiting companies for Shri Shikshiyatan are PWC, Deloitte, etc. The highest package offered in the course is 3 lacs and the lowest 1.2 lacs. The percentage of students who get internship are 5%.

Campus life in Shikshayatan college is great. It has an amazing set of professors who are very caring and helpful. Along with academics I have actively taken part in all the co curricular activities ranging from debates, sports, annual functions, college fests, seminars and so on. The college not only helps in excelling in academics but also encourages extra curricular activities.

It has great facilities like good infrastructure, canteen, labs, games. It has sports activities such as swimming, basket ball, badminton, etc. It has an open access library with over 42000 books, various journals,newspapers.

Hostel Facilities

The college does not have a hostel facility. I have opted for a pg. Its rent is 10000 which includes lodging and fooding. It is a room for 4 which has 2 beds with 2 girls for each. It is quite easy to get pg facilities in Kolkata.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

Placement Experience:

At our college placements are good and many core companies or finance and IT are here for placements and intenrships as well. Average placements from what I have checked is around 4-5 lakhs per year for B.Com (Hons) students.

SAJC - From The Eye of a Student.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of course outdated. Teaching methods are old. No case studies, competitions or project of any sort is there in the curriculum. Although a project of 100 marks is there in the final sem, but I don't think that's enough. There is no practicality in the curriculum and usability in career. The syllabus really needs an uplifment.

When canteen closed, the city opened up.

Good for studying but should improve for recruitment

The application form is available on the college website and every other detail regarding fees and application date is available there. For general category minimum, 60% marks in aggregate and for sc/St minimum 55% marks in aggregate and also must have passed in English. The admission process is convenient and reliable....Read More
