Remarks

Finest engineering workshops and facilities in Kolkata, with a great placement record. Being a tire 1 college it has its own perks. The core sectors get decent placements. The professors are well experienced and helps in hands on practicals. Workshops have enough number of machineries to suffice each and every student. This a nice green campus with lots of extra curricular activites to do. The college is situated in South Kolkata, one of the busiest and easily accessible places in the city. There are several clubs to keep you engaged all the time. Clubs could be technical like motorsports club, coding club or may be non technical like photography club or mountaineering club. This place has all the components to make you fall in love with it.

As per the alumni record, this course has decent record in the industries. Professors are good. The course syllabus is not the latest one. Regarding industrial exposure, being situated in Kolkata, it is never a problem, our faculty provides adequate exposure to the industrial farms and institutes. Also having some huge workshops would let us get practical with the machines and production technology.

Jadavpur University has a year long festival season. At first we get the departmental freshers and everyone could take part and enjoy them regardless their departments. Next is the collective freshers known as U-Turn which is huge and participants come from all the faculties. U-Turn hosts several cultural and sports activites with lots of interaction among the students. Next there are fests of all the faculties (arts, science and engineering). Arts and science faculty fests are pretty big and everyone from the college are welcome. But then comes the technical fest of the engineering faculty, Srijan, mainly held in the Salt Lake campus, and it has lots of exposures to technology and companies of the respective fields. But the biggest one is the culural fest of engineering faculty, Sanskriti, particpants come from all the colleges in Kolkata. This fest is huge and all of us use to keenly wait for this one.

Campus Life

The opportunities to take part in sports are several throughout the year. Departmental libraries are not all big but a very nice and big central library is there. Equipments in laboratories are sufficient for every student and they are in good working condition. Wifi is not good at the campus.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility for placement is from 3rd year,with tier 1 companies visiting like Google, Amazon along with mass requiters like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro etc.Last year heights placement package was 72LPA offered to 15 students and average was 2-3 LPA.

Okay college and decent placement

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is same as all low 3 tier colleges which is nearly 4-5 lpa average salary given by mass recuitor companies .The companies are infosys , ltimindtree , accenture , ibm , capgemini , cognigent , etc .The placement rate is nearly 60 to 70 percent.

Heritage Institute of Technology: A Detailed Observation

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from third year that is after 5th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and IBM are amongst the mass hirers. Almosy 80 percent of the students get placed every year and the top 10 percent of the students receive high paying job offers. The average package is around 4.86 LPA and in 2023, the highest package was 16 LPA and in 2022, the highest package was 44 LPA. Talking about my future plans, I wish to pursue my masters abroad after completing my undergraduate course here.

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

I have always wanted to study in Jadavpur University in one of their literature departments since I was a kid. This was a way of achieving a tiny dream of mine. Moreover, the Comparative Literature Department is the best in all entire Asia and the first one in the country. I wanted to experience the greatness of this course and how the canons of this literature were formed here. It is also the topmost State Public University and 9th in NIRF I wanted to be a part of an institution that could be great to this extent. The admission took place on the basis of a merit-based entrance examination. The seats are limited; therefore, only the top 15 students out of almost 800-1000 who appeared for the exam were selected. The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

1) I applied for Delhi School of Economics, however couldn't manage an admission due to the extreme cutoff on CUET exam for the same. I had confirmed admission from North Bengal University, however it was not feasible since I had a choice in Jadavpur University. Jadavpur University has the best rank among all other colleges I had a confirmed admission to, so I chose this University. 2) I wanted to study in Delhi School of Economics, but couldn't make it there due to the extensive cutoff in CUET which I unfortunately couldn't clear. 3) Jadavpur University conducts its own internal exam for admission into its esteemed Masters of Arts [M.A.] programme. However one can get through by CUET exams as well, however that needs a decent score.
