Remarks

As it is with every college, it depends on the student how he or she chooses to utilize his/her time. I was good at academics and made a conscious effort to participate in events, making my college life hectic, as well as fruitful. The skills I picked up, especially corporate interaction help me even today.

Entrance Preview

I shifted from a previous University, where I had completed a year already and took a direct admission in the second year, alongside other Diploma graduates.I had excellent grades in my 10th (9356%) and 12th(91.5%) and my CGPA in the previous college was also good (8.38), facilitating the shift in to the same stream. The reason I chose this college was feedback I received from a previous alumnus, especially on the quality of placements, which was stellar

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The college started out with a trimester pattern, but shifted to a semester system while I was in the final year. The trimester system was very hectic, and the semester system made it slightly more breathable. The curriculum was fixed and the same for everyone until the third year and branched out into electives during the final year. Electives offered were :Semester 7: Industrial Electronics, Introduction to Automation, Java, VLSI, Advanced Microcontrollers, Image ProcessingSemester 8: Speech Processing, Robotics, Power Electronics

Internships Opportunities

I was a part of the Placement committee, so I can tell you first hand that the effort that goes into obtaining internships is a lot. Most people prefer to get internships through their own private contacts, since internships required by the college is mandatorily for a month. Ideally, one or two months of an internship in the corporate doesn't amount to much, hence they refrain from offering paid internships.

Placement Experience

5

The average package during the campus placements for my batch was around 4 lakh perannum. The minimum package has been about 3 lakh per annum, which is the standard fresher salary for IT jobs. Some of the mass recruiters include Accenture, and Infosys (3 lakh p.a). We have also had several niche profiles offered on campus such as EY (3.75 lakh p.a), ZS Associates (8 lakh p.a), Zycus(3 lakh p.a), Tresvista Financial Services (4.8 lakh p.a), Tavant Technologies (4 lakh p.a), Informatica(6 lakh p.a), PWC (4 lakh p.a),

College Events

4

We have two one huge festivals celebrated on an annual basis called Taqneeq. It encourages innovation in Technology with several different competions. It is mostly organized by the student council. There are several other fun events and games held too, such as treasure hunts, races, sports like cricket and football etc. There are also several other events organized throughout the year such as rose day, cultural day, blood donation drives as well as seminars and industrial visits organized by committees such as IEEE, Student Council, Dance Club etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is pretty expensive, which goes up with every year. During my time it used to be 2.5 lakh p.a. The cost is due to the location in a slightly well to do area, as well as the investment in the infrastructure which is excellent. Thought there is an absence of an external ground, the college more than makes up for it with the excellent classrooms, good benches and laboratories

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not aware of the presence of scholarship as such in the college, but good performers were often given financial assistance. The first ranker of the entire batch for a major is entitled to INR 50, 000 p.a, the second ranker- 30, 000 p.a and the third ranker-20, 000 p.a

Campus Life

4

The college has made an excellent effort to collaborate with companies t ensure students can avail practical knowledge from a corporate point of view as well. The college has an Accenture lab which was specifically to help train students who are extraordinary performers in the IT and CS fields with certain specialized concepts. There is also a Bosch robotics lab with state of the art robotic equipment.

Hostel Facilities

4

The men's hostel is directly a part of the main college building itself, making travel rather easy. The girl's campus is a little farther away, but no more than fifteen minutes away from the main building. The college is pretty famous for its canteen, and students from nearby colleges come here to eat too. It is a pure vegetarian canteen and provides jain food as well.

Alumni/Alumna

My general interaction with the seniors has always been as a part of the Placement Committee. They have always been very approachable and forthcoming. Their contacts and performance has helped keep the excellent placement records even today and spread the name of our college in the corporate world.

Exam Structure

The exam structure during my time had two compulsary classtests, which formed a part of the internal score alongside the assignments, attendance and lab work, viva and the final paper formed the external half which was usually corrected by an external faculty(usually the sister college campus faculty- Shirpur)However, later the classtests which during our time used to be best of two became average of the two, which was a little hectic

Faculty

3

The faculty in general is good. The College had also shifted to a more digital system towards the end of 2014 to facilitate a paperless environment, which was a good measure, since it helped reduce the amount of effort and pages for submission of experiments, assignments and such

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
