Remarks
College management is too much after the dress code. Althought it doesn't necessarily means a bad thing but at certain times it really gets to the nerves. On a positive note, the curriculum is set in such a way that it makes you a better, confident public speaker who could easily address a gathering without much nervousness. A number of presentations in the class as assessment tests ensure that the person becomes a better communicator and a confident speaker.
Course Curriculum Overview
I personally liked the exam structure. I stead of giving a full end semester exam, it is divided into Cntinius Internal Assessment(CIA), mid semester exams and then End semester exams. Not only this reduces the academic pressure but also sustains the interest of the students in the subject.
Placement Experience
College actually has an impressive number of companies comming for both internships and job placements. This is done on the basis of requirements of the company and specialisation of the students from different courses. A few example would be Deloitte, EY, Cognizant, Amazon, Deutsche Bank, and slot of marketing related firms as well. Quite a healthey percentage of students get placed. From my class itself, apart from students who volunteered to not sit for placements, most of the others got placed in some company or the other. Yes the college organizes proper briefing seminars to let students know what the company is about and it also gives place for conducting the interview process.
College Events
There are plenty of national, inter university and intra university fests and events that are histed in the college that cover all the domains from marketing to finance to Entreneur development to aspects related to science, not to mention all the cultural events that are organised in the campus year round. A few events are Udaan, Darpan, Mitige, Blossoms etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees structure is quite feasible when you compare it to other universities in Bangalore although not as economical as you would find it central universities. But since it's a private institution, the fees look quite justified to me.
Fees and Financial Aid
No I didn't opt for a student loan or availed of any scholarships. However there are plenty of students who get scholarships upto rs 10, 000 if they perform well academically and also there are sports and other scholarships as well.
Campus Life
The Christ university campus has a very diverse crowd on campus. There are students coming from each and every corner of the country and abroad who believe in different faiths, traditions and cultures. The gender ratio is quite balanced. In certain courses you have more female students than the males. We have a really big and beautifully maintained campus so there is always an excitement to get to the fields and relax with your friends. You make really good friends here as most of the people are very welcoming and they understand that people have come from far off places and would want a good company.
Hostel Facilities
College hostels are generally not that vacant. So it's primarily on come first get first basis. Since I didn't stay in the college hostels, I really don't know in detail about the rental structure but the friends that do live there told me that it is quite affordable although there are certain restrictions as to entry and exit into the campus after a certain time at night.
Alumni/Alumna
The college boasts of a really good alumni network as a number of them are very successful in whatever field they operate in. Comming to the senior, yes they are supportive in their own ways and the best thing is there's zero ragging whatsoever in the campus.
Admission
During my year of admissions, the mode of securing admission for my course used to be a merit list and a personal interview. A merit list is prepared after declaring the minimum marks that you as a student are required to attain in your 12th standard final exams. One who meets this criteria gets in the merit list and is later called for a small interview.
Faculty
Out of all the teachers that taught me in my 3 years of Bcom, I can confidently say that majority of them are really good in their respective subjects. The average age of the faculty is around 45 years old or a little more. Yes teachers like to quote examples from induatries and from the real world to make thing easier to be understood. Sure there a few exceptions here and there but overall the faculty is quite good. On average we get 4-5 lectures a day.
