Remarks

The principal can smile a bit more. Other than it's good, try to understand that it can be difficult for students to adjust to new surroundings.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Since ours was a new course, and we are the first batch, hence it's a bit experimental, however the curriculum was planned and made by industry experts keeping in mind to groom us into professionals and give us out as market ready individuals. Our classes are mostly taken by industry professionals who have a much experience in the field.

Placement Experience

0.5

I believe the placement cell has a huge scope for improvement. We students are asked to bring in companies for placement, rather than the college.

College Events

3.5

Joseph's arrange huge freshers parties, however with the dress codes which are not followed by the organisers themselves. Occasions department fests, college fests, sports etc are all conducted. I personally haven't attended most of them, because it's the undergraduate student's events that dominate rather than the pg student's events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is expensive, to he honest. They do offer transparency on breakdown but at times it's not very valid. Like charging huge sum as lab fees when we are asked to bring our own laptop and work in class. Separate charges for reading room and library while it's technically the same.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, the college as such hasn't provided any scholarship opportunities to students, but I think some OBC scholarships are there, I don't know much about it.

Campus Life

3

Campus life is okay. There's a lot of groupism and students who don't smoke or drink have an extremely tough time fitting in. The Post graduation campus I very silent and no at all happening, while the under graduate campus is huge and lively, it is actually a happening campus

Hostel Facilities

3

Our college only has mens hostel, no ladies hostel. I stay in a Kerala paying guest house near my college and have to pay 10000 rupees, for three time meals and a 4 sharing room, which is quite expensive. However the rooms are good and meals are decent.

Alumni/Alumna

I personally don't know them. Being the first batch we don't have any senior batch. However we have seniors in the Mass communication dept, however haven't had much opportunity to interact with them, other than an unofficial freshers party.

Admission

I was searching for colleges offering courses on Communications, Advertising and Public relations. This was my top priority, the availability of course. Next was the state. I wanted to study either in Bangalore, Kerala, Mumbai or Chennai. I came across St Joseph's in a website names College Dunia. I was called for a written exam. After the exam, the selected members were mailed and called for the interview.

Faculty

4

Our classes, particularly because of the course- Advertising and Public relations are rather taken by industry professionals who have stood the test of time and gathered great experience in the field practically than theoretically. As far as the faculty is considered they are passionate and hardworking except very few.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester where you have to do an internship project for the semester based Most of the companies that visit are from the news organisations like Bangalore Times, The Hindu, Mint, Times of India, Deccan Herald and other companies like ITC also visit frequently. I am not quite sure about the packages offered.

Placement Experience:

By the end of the 2nd semester, we are constantly notified about any vacancies in any department. The college placement cell sends us notifications through our class monitors or sometimes throyoutlr HOD. Even after the end of our final semester exam, we are added in a group that is specially meant for job opportunities and placements, where they constantly update and notify us. Out of 32 students in our class, a total of 12 students got placement. As for me, my plan is to do PhD in the said field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is relevant for us which helps us to attempt competitive exams. Actually the curriculum changes our mindset and it helps to face the real society. I don't think that improvements needes in curriculum. We get one & half hour for internal tests and 3 hours for sem exams and it is enough foe us to cover whole question paper.

curriculum is extensive and large and some students find it hard to grasp all the knowledge given for the syllabus. it may seem daunting at first but i rather prefer this than having little to nothing to study as it helps me find new things to read which i would have never figured out before.
