Genuine Review of UEM Kolkata

It is overall a very good college. Academics and discipline are the main concern.

The course curriculum is detailed and diverse which covers every aspect of Biotechnology and also some extra subjects which are a necessary for the growing industry such as Data science and Analytics, Production and Operations Management, etc. One year of complete Placement Training helps the students to grab the job offers from the campus placements. This Placement Training includes regular aptitude classes, coding classes of different programming languages and mock interviews which helps the students to crack the job offers easily. Yes Industrial visits are a regular part of the curriculum for all the departments.

UEM Kolkata provides excellent placement. 100% placement record from 2019 and 2020 with most students having multiple job offers with an average package of 4.0LPA. UEM Kolkata also provides opportunities for internship in reputed research organisations and industries.

Ecstasia : Annual Cultural Fest. Participants from different colleges come to participate. Urekon : Annual Techno Management Fest. It consists of model exhibition, model making competition, coding and web designing competition, gaming competition, etc Saraswati Puja followed by cultural programme. Vishwakarma Puja Agomoni Adda : Pre Durga Puja cultural celebration.

Fee structure is feasible. My fees was around ?40,000 per semester. Mode of payments accepted are cheques, demand drafts. Cash payment is not available. Online payment system is available via college website and also through Paytm, where credit cards, debit cards, NetBanking etc. can be used for payment. No additional fee is required for admission. College provides transparency in fee breakdown. Detailed fee breakdown is available from the accounts department.

Scholarship opportunities were available to the students based on the marks scored by the students in 12th standard.

Number of boys and girls were almost equal. Students diversity was there. Students were present from all over India. Discipline and academics was the most important criteria for our college. Economic status was not a criteria, students from different economic background were there in our college

No. i didn't opt for hostel. But few of my friends had opted for hostel. According to them, the rooms were good enough and the quality of food provided was healthy and hygienic. There were sharing rooms.

We had no seniors as we were the first batch of the university.

I had interest in Biology and hence i chose B.Tech in Biotechnology as Biotechnology is a fast growing industry in India and as well as abroad. The admission procedure is via IEMJEE, the entrance exam of the institute. Students qualifying this entrance examination gets the opportunity to get admitted to UEM Kolkata.

The college has highly Qualified faculty members. The department of Biotechnology has 6 professors and all of them have a Ph.D. They encourage one to one student interaction for doubt clearing. They are friendly and helps the students in every way possible.
