Remarks

College management committee has done an excellent work in maintaining the integrity of thr campus. With fewer student density, the association among the students and teachers had been a blessing. Not to worry about non academic staffs are helpful in their own ways giving this campus a glossy look.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

UG curriculum provides the best dept knowledge on the aquacultural sector of our country. Being a professional course, it accumulates the theoretical and practical knowledge of the fish as a unit and fisheries as a whole. You learn the anatomy, morohology, biochemistry, health everything. To be put in a small line, its MBBS on Fish.

Placement Experience

3

As of now internships are meagre. We have a dedicated govt job known by the name FEO which is solely for this professional course. Internships or campusing occurs rarely whrn some private companies like to recruit some professionals.

College Events

3.5

Being a govt. University it celebrates everything in a list of govt. Calender. Starting with saraswati puja and ending with teachers day. Ome important functions that are prepared are dependent on the freshers and the seniors who are bidding goodbye, farewell functions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible. Government university hence quite a low package. I would suggest you to go to the website and check out the prospectus. It would be of more help as the prospectus details every inch of the courses, starting from UG till PhD with PhD on life sciences.

Fees and Financial Aid

Being a general student i dont get any govt scholarships. I have applied for the merit scholarship provided by thr university itself based on yout academics. This is quite meagre when compared to govt. Or other scholarships, still satisfies the need of buying essential study matetials and maintaining academics.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is great. Not just normal great its a mixture of academics and frolics. You have enough time for sports. Extracurricular are not present in the usual courses. After classes, you will have enough time to play in a field in the campus. Gender ratio is like more into boys than girls. Student density is quite less. Only 44 per year.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni has always been of great help. Alumni association provides the essential inputs of all the things that happen in the campus, be it studies or games. We acknowledge the alumni as a regular part of our association. Why not. They know the campus better than we do.

Admission

Was selected based on my 12th standard marks. For students outside domicile state, entrance exam is there. Well, i had an interest in agricultural sector and fisheries seemed to be a good choice. I had filled up a form with necessary documents while registration. They displayed the merit list on their site and boom, Was selected.

Faculty

4

The faculty serves warmth and displays a beautiful environment of peace and health. Its quite aloof from the main town, decreasing the crowd flow. Seminar rooms are quite big with built in projectors and ACs. Dedicated classrooms for UG is a necessity and you get it. For PG students, the departments are quite bug and adjustable.

The exam pattern was good. Moderate paper was there. Examiner had done a great job. For the curriculum we always had to pay extra money. In our 7th sem, we had all India tour, we did have any practical classes or theory exam still we had to pay for the practical and library not only that we had to pay for the trip as well.

Faculty of the university is very experienced about the course. The Faculty to students ratio is nearly 1:10. Every semester has two exams. One is mid-term exam which is organized internally for 30 marks and another one is end term exam of which questions are external and for 50 marks. There are also practical examination of 20 marks. It's not fixed at all. Placement is in the hands of the HOD of various departments. After a bachelor's degree students can easily afford on or off-campus with 3-4LPA. After my bachelor's degree, my personal plan is to complete MFSc as after the completion of my post-graduate job profile would be higher than BFSc.

Being a professional course as it is, the main goal is to train and create entrepreneurs who pioneer in the art of Pisciculture, its administration and management. Students can also apply for Government jobs, or participate in government funded projects in central research institutes, furthermore they can sought for higher education and research themselves, Choose teaching as their profession, and also seek a position in private fishing industries that are based generally on the culture and post harvesting, which is a highly profitable scope as well. Recruiters generally come towards the last semester in the final year. And students are eligible to apply from the (4rth year) final year itself. Almost all students are placed. I completed my master's from here from the Department of Fisheries Engineering and Technology and on completion am seeking opportunities for a PhD.

In the 4th year, students are eligible for campus placements. Students studying here mainly aim for Fishery Extension Officer (Govt. Post) but due to conflict of the demands, the recruitment is halted for now. Campus placements are not at all regular. The companies that visit here are CP, Biostadt etc. The faculty is planning to open a recruitment cell for regular campusing.
