Entrance Preview

I had done B.sc biochemistry & microbiology prior to my present education M.Sc ( biochemistry). Moreover my college is the best college in all aspects.

Course Curriculum Overview

It is a very interactive and practical based curriculum with subjects like genetics, immunology, metabolism, hematology, nutrition and few more. Clinical biochemistry & immunology are my favourite subjects.

Internships Opportunities

Internship is a basic and very important part of any practical based study curriculum. I did my internship with "ROSS LIFESCIENCE PVT LTD", PUNE. stipend was not offered initially as it was not a mandate for the internship program.

Placement Experience

Placements in my college are not much. They just offer good internship programs for good exposure and understanding our area of study in a better way. Knowledge they provide is the key with the students to achieve their goals in life.

College Events

From time to time our college organises different fests, a recent one named " utsav" was organised in dec 2015. It was a mix of technology & culture. It gives a platform to the students for innovations and to express there interest in their specific area of study.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a Mumbai University affiliated college the fee structure should be feasible for every student but it is abit on a expensive side when it comes to Ruia College. For my course Rs.35000 is annual basic fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are few scholarship program offered which is not at all opportunity based as it is in few other colleges in the city. It is totally for the good of the students with no biased links involved. However i have not availed any scholarship or loan.

Campus Life

Gender ration is approx 850 female students per 1000 male students. I have never got myself involved into any issue based on gender, race, religion etc. As i have never witnessed any such activity in our campus which may lead to such a discussion.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are always a channel of motivation and help. We do have a healthy alumni network and there are several occasions on which. We all assemble and share our thoughts and experiences of life with each other.

Exam Structure

Exams structure is not like making you study day & night with stress prevailing for scoring good marks. It is more of practical based which directly develops interest in the students to aim for putting their creative imaginations to reality.

Faculty

Faculty of our college is very co-operative and through with the curriculum. They are our true mentors who are always ready to guide us to achieve the desired aim on time. Their knowledge and experiences are fruitful to the students which they share with all of us from time to time.

From which semester students become maximum students are placement.company name I don't know I no experience , highest package is 15LPA and average is 5 to 6LPA , then percentage of placements students is 50% to 60%percentage students are playes.

The best place to get admission

Placement Experience:

Students who completed their masters are eligible for placements. Companies include Pharma, Biotech, R&d, agri companies, food industries, we can apply there. Well from 3rd semester students can apply and visit different companies previously, haidrabad, banglore are visited by our seniors. Students get salary of 30000-40000 ,there are students selected for multiple high rated companies. 30-40% Students get placed. I want to pursue Phd from India as I am more focus in research.

A campus life you must live once in your life - Fergusson College

Placement Experience:

Placements in Fergusson are pretty good. Students are eligible for sitting in the placement drives from the 3rd semester, we also get Pre-placment activities and tests before the drive starts. We get companies like Axtria, Vois , bluepineapple etc on campus. The highest package is 10 - 12 lakhs and 4-6 lakhs on an average. In my batch out of the 30 people we 20 are placed so far on campus.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the GIPE are decent. This year the highest package offered was 18 lakhs per annum by Deloitte and IDFC FIRST Bank. Although the placements are not 100% but it's around 60%. Students need to work hard and score well in aptitude test and they should start the preparation from the second semester onwards so that they can easily manage their end semester exams as well as the aptitude test. The average placement package is around 8-9 lakhs. My plan is to get a corporate job and gain some experience and exposure in the corporate world and learn how the things actually work. Many companies that come to the college are looking for data analytics role. The ratio of the companies looking for consultant, risk analyst is less based on market demand and other circumstances.

By the end of sem3 itself, the postgraduates are deployed into interviews for certain internships. But if you are with good academic scores and knowledge you can even get directly placed. Every individual is given 3 chances by the college to get and crack the interview but if the student is not able to then he is guided to where to apply but mostly ICRI makes sure everyone is placed as the college proudly stays with its 100% placement tag line. As I told here there are varied background people here with different needs of roles, the highest package I have seen getting is 15L pa to the lowest of 3L pa which even depends upon the company to your broad spectrum of knowledge. To specify which companies come here for recruitment are sun pharma, Cipla, and many more there are all 20+ companies that come and hire the intellectuals. To specify about me I am planning to get a CRC post as a start for CRA in the future.

PG not given any campus you will get a job on your ability. We have to prepare for set net after MSc but there are some companies visited college like Wipro. They provide job but the salary is around 25000 per month.

Out of fright I applied to many colleges like KC , ruia , ruparel , wilson , Elphinstone etc but atlast decided to choose ruia as the microbiology department of ruia is outstanding and the no. of opportunities one can get when in ruia is very vast and the growth which happens in a place like ruia where there is a team/group/society for evey persons liking and ability . I didn't got any rejections as my score was 67 and every other college's science cut off was very low so there were many choices for me to make so as per the credibility of evey college i compared the department and curriculum and RUIA turned out to be the best . IN RUIA ONE CAN DEFINITELY BALANCE STUDIES , WORK AND EQUAL AMOUNT OF FUN DURING FESTS.
