Course Curriculum Overview

Life science is a course where we learn everything from botany to biotechnology and become of New education policy we are getting so many real life experience which are making us understand how important is life science in real life and it's implemention

Class Size: 30Course Fees: INR 1590 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

For my undergraduate course in first year we had ?800 as fee for whole year and for second year it is ?1500 for a year . It is a very decent fee and the most importance is given to tution fee and my college offers many scholarship too as financial aid

Campus Life

In ruia there are two fest one of every department where life science was called as synapse and other college fest called as utsav aarohan. College also has different clubs and teams. I am a part of Ruia Science association which works for all science related things in ruia

Admission

I always wanted to get into Ruia college and we I got a low score in my 12th I was disheartened thinking I will not get into Ruia but I did. This college is like home unlike other colleges where people are too much engrossed with themselves. Here people care and enjoy with eachother. Admission to this college was the easiest I have ever seen they gave us the list of documents they needs and they having their own app admission was made smoother

Faculty

As my college has NEP applied the course structure has changed, now we have 2 subject combination and we cannot drop any subject we have major and minor system. As for my department in second year we are 28 students and 7 teachers and all of them are so good and teaches the best my favourite being Simone Mam as her teaching style is very unique and fun. The faculty i don't like is bhupendra sir as he is not punctual and that is one key that a teacher should have. Yearly we have 2 exams and in that we have semester end,unit test and practical exam. Due to NEP I do not find the course difficult.

Night Life

Ruia has a cafeteria where you get the best rice but it is the things outside ruia which make it so known like frankie there is the best. Then the cold coffee taste the best and people come near my college to enjoy these things. Ruia has many hangout spot but the iconic one being ruia katta where people sit and talk endlessly

A good choice for bachelors study for regular BSc

Course Curriculum Overview:

The first year curriculum connects SSC and HSC syllabus making easier to approach further. The course can be divided into two as aspects of application and academic first the general theory course of animals including phylum study and the another goes with lab work techniques making it suitable for higher studying in both lab and field work. The three year course must be provided with free subject choice as per the new education policy (no compulsion for physics and chemistry) Slight improvement in planning feel experience in field tours and outcomes. Do mostly well planned but sometime the exam schedule of different subject choices students in first and second year of course can make a difficult for on time study required before exam.

Teaching methods were good by some professors but one professor taught from ppt only. 2 and half hour for each exam and 60 marks paper all subjective no mcq as such. Practical exam is 150 marks including lab work , journal, viva voce.

Remarks:

A few negative effects are debt, partying, sexual assault, missing family and friends, and stress. Being part of MIT ADT University there are some disadvantages of not being a regular student. We always need to be in our best behaviour, need to be always dressed in uniform in college function and a high penalty of suspension is followed if presented differently.

Out of fright I applied to many colleges like KC , ruia , ruparel , wilson , Elphinstone etc but atlast decided to choose ruia as the microbiology department of ruia is outstanding and the no. of opportunities one can get when in ruia is very vast and the growth which happens in a place like ruia where there is a team/group/society for evey persons liking and ability . I didn't got any rejections as my score was 67 and every other college's science cut off was very low so there were many choices for me to make so as per the credibility of evey college i compared the department and curriculum and RUIA turned out to be the best . IN RUIA ONE CAN DEFINITELY BALANCE STUDIES , WORK AND EQUAL AMOUNT OF FUN DURING FESTS.
