Microbiology is mainly lab based work but it also teaches you other worldly things , the reason behind me choosing Bsc microbiology to do from ruia is because , once i had a talk to an alumni of ruia in which she mentioned that microbiology from ruia is basucally equal of engineering from an IIT. In microbiology particularly i would say the difficulty level is a bit high but only if you don't pay attention to daily lecs and practicals

The year wise fee i paid was 15000 rupees and this is for general (open) category students while the SC/ST students get little concession . Students applies for EWS have yearly fees of 2000 rupees. Scholarships present are only for NSS aplied students in the college itself

There are MANYYY festivals in ruia such as starting with monsoon sports , rose day , vidyarthyancha raja ( ganpati fest of 10 days ) , lavanya , ringan, kaleidoscope, aarohan , colosseun etc . To manage and do these kind of numerous festivals they also have 10 teams such as team publicity ( does the decorating arts and craft work for every coming fest ) , team Infrastructure ( which hangs and sticks the decor all over the college premises) , team security ( again it is considered the biggest team of ruia having a strict 100 volunteers policy , they do all the frisking and making sure that everyone follows the given rules and conduct of the particular fest . They also accompany the big celebrities who visit ruia on the fest day ) team crisis management ( they manage crisis or any conflict caused during the main event / fest ) team literary arts ( they mainly focus on performing literature and art and poetry , story telling on the stage at the event ) team fine arts ( they help at making some decor items for the event ) team performing arts ( they focus on performing their talent , arts such as dancing, singing various forms on stage at the event ) team The celeb management ( they focus on bringing various celebrities for the ruia events and fests) team hospitality ( they take care of everyone during the college event such as providing everyone with water , glucose or some bandages and cure aid if any accident, team protocol ( who bring various sponsors to fund our event ) team RCL ( ruia contingent leaders who conduct and manage the intercollegiate events of ruia or ruia students taking part in other college events or competitions ) . I am in team publicity and absolutely love the team and the work they do of lighting every event with the same love and light , the people around me are also very loyal and helping which definitely makes my experience amazing. You as a person also can grow alot if you join any particular team or society which forces you to socialise

Out of fright I applied to many colleges like KC , ruia , ruparel , wilson , Elphinstone etc but atlast decided to choose ruia as the microbiology department of ruia is outstanding and the no. of opportunities one can get when in ruia is very vast and the growth which happens in a place like ruia where there is a team/group/society for evey persons liking and ability . I didn't got any rejections as my score was 67 and every other college's science cut off was very low so there were many choices for me to make so as per the credibility of evey college i compared the department and curriculum and RUIA turned out to be the best . IN RUIA ONE CAN DEFINITELY BALANCE STUDIES , WORK AND EQUAL AMOUNT OF FUN DURING FESTS. The admission process for ruia is once you get accepted by getting your name In the list then you have to go there in person for offline document verification and choose the major minor combination of your course as per your liking then they will send you an online link with an expiring time for you to pay the fees . afterwords they will email you the following details of commemoration of classes and induction which is also updated on their official ruia college site .

the faculty behind evey subject is aroud 2-3 which is pretty good as they can pay nice attention to a class of 60 kids . Faculty to student ratio is adequate. I think the best faculties would be of the chemistry department. microbiology department is also not very strict but enough strict in order for students to actually pay attention and learn as the subject itself is a little complicated. There are yearly 2 semesters in which they include internals (assignment ) , unif test , practicals (journal ) and main sem exams . The hardness level of the exams do vary from subject but are usually easily clearable, although if failed in some particular subjects , ruia also conducte KT clearing exams every sem .

In the college itself there are various activities going on such as the gym , a big cafeteria/ canteen, 2 big libraries containing various amount of books you can issue which help you throughout the degree course . Ruia also has an enormous newly renovated auditorium where many events and practice of natyavalay takes place .there is no such hostel of the ruia college itself but there are many pgs and hostels nearby the matunga area that can help students coming from far away. There are manyyy hangout places near ruia such as mamaji frakie and sandwhich , jayesh fast food , juice centre right beside , DP's restaurant and manis lunch home , the china man , think juice centre , bandy's fast food , shirkes fast food , la pinos pizza and durga restaurant and bar . There is also five gardens place near ruia to hangout with friends .
