Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course as it was in my field of interest. I'm pretty sure that the course im doing has a lot of scope right now and in the future so now I'm currently focusing on developing my personal skills and keeping up my academic record. Regarding the teaching methods they're good enough but some can still improve and use the chalk and talk method instead of ppts to teach since they're more likely to be understood by students than the former..

Internships Opportunities

3

The internships are all based on how skilled a person is and how their knowledge is spread out. It doesn't matter how good the internship placement is, if the student isn't useful, they won't get selected. But if the student is good enough even cause of their about their degree then the college placements can be considered to be fairly well.

Placement Experience

3

Not sure but I've heard a bit that students are eligible for campus placement since the 5th or 6th semester. If one has enough skills, then they'll be able to get a job of a huge package even while being a fresher. The college offers placements but you'll only get placed if you prove yourself to be better than everyone else in the room.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college YCIS allows students to get all government aided scholarships. It doesn't matter if the student is from a caste or falls under general category. Many scholarships are available for all the students. The fee structure isn't complicated and is affordable for most of the students studying. Currently for me the fees per year is 40k which includes degree and diploma fees and other facilities of the college. The college doesn't allow student admissions through management and is only merit based so there's no difference in the fee structure for it. No donations are taken and it's pretty good overall.

Campus Life

4

A lot of books are available in the college library and they're all very informative. Students only need their id cards to borrow books from the library for any purpose. But they need to be returned before the due date or a fine of one rupee per day is charged to them. Many features like smartboard are available in classrooms which help students study and understand better. The college has many cultural and sport events which take place usually during the month of February. There's many clubs that are run by the English department of the college, like the film club or the cultural committee, etc. but overall it's all fun

Admission

I applied to University of forensic science, Mumbai and Sandip University, nashik. I got accepted in the latter one but i didn't take admission in it since the fees were too high. I got rejected by the former university cause my percentage was not up to the par that was required for students from general category. I took admission in ycis, satara as this college provided insights on how the degree would help me, how I can get a good job and etc. It was also in a safe area and had a proper security for girls and boys.

Faculty

3

As for my degree, there's 3 exams for internals and one external end sem examination that is conducted once every sem. Depending on the course, it has either 6-8 semesters. The syllabus is very relevant to the course and it is very helpful for all the students. The faculty is also pretty sharp and on-going and helps students improve their skills. They might be a little more pressurising before exams but other than that it's good. Sometimes lectures are not conducted if they're busy but most of the time it's done. The exams are pretty decent and relevant to the syallabus taught but you may end up failing if you haven't studied even a bit.

Night Life

4

There's many restaurants around the college and even opposite to it. The college itself has a gym which any student can use after getting permission from the physical education department head. The boys hostel is about 1 km away from the college and closes at 8 pm while the girls hostel is in the college campus and gates close at 6 pm. The area is considered pretty safe to ro.am around at night- alone and in groups so yeah

Course Curriculum Overview:

Biotechnology curriculum is quite relevant and comprehensive. It balances core subjects like molecular biology, genetics, and bioinformatics with hands-on lab sessions, which influenced my decision to choose this course..... The curriculum prepares students well for both real world applications and further studies, though I feel it could be enhanced with more industry llinked projects or internships. Exams are well spaced and moderately challenging, helping reinforce the material without being overly difficult. However, adding advanced electives and more industry focused workshops could make the program even stronger and more aligned with current biotech trends.

Placements in the colleges are good for all the courses. For my course physics we havent had a batch that has passed out yet so i do not know much about the placements. Most students from undergraduate physics pursue higher studies first and then look for jobs. Masters in physics has placements in industry as well as research fields. The average package for the masters students are 5 to 6 lakhs per annum. I will be pursuing my masters abroad first and then will think of a job
