Remarks
So ICRI has an entrance exam which goes with quite a diplomatic aptitude test but not to get underneath the blanket there are even some reference admissions you can make and even early bird admission which goes with first come first serves for the seek of admission. There is no discrimination among the caste or reserved seats as such here that the beauty of ICRI, even people with zero knowledge about clinical research can get into this college, it just needs to be a person with a science background though people with pharmacy, MBBS, life sciences are given top preference. To get admission here people or the seeker should get their primary graduate degree, people with a diploma are not usually given a seat. The college is adequate with great professors and a great curriculum but to paradox, you need to study on your own grounds.
Course Curriculum Overview
Post this corona pandemic there was the overgrowing growth in the fields of life sciences and research area, that's where I got my eyes on clinical research and it fascinated me with its growth in terms of revenue and knowledge so I decided to go with this field as earlier I have done my bachelors in microbiology and a touch of clinical research will make my dish perfect. ICRI has a great faculty especially its HOD- Dr. Amlan Kanti, good with his knowledge, has great practical and book knowledge, and is always a motivator to do publication and research in the defined boundary of clinical research. The teaching staff was quite comprehensive because of the pandemic but the college compensated it with its new staff who were young and dynamic and more like buddies and seniors in kind of relation. Mostly 98% of the staff is with a doctorate and some professors who are actually doctors and medical practitioners. We had a total of 4 sems in this 2-year course and exams were quite intellectual.
Internships Opportunities
As I mentioned earlier there are major big and even small companies as well as pharmaceuticals that visit ICRI to hire candidates. To answer which roles are offered by the companies, well first you have to understand that there are many posts under the umbrella for Clinical Research, and even depending upon our past bachelors and academic weightage, Aditya Raikar ( Placement manager ) does forward our Cv and look out to what best suits our needs and profile. He even guides us for special mock interviews and guides us with the best regarding how to crack the interview and even presents ourselves for the same. Sem 4 is basically a project-based sem here we are given a specific project by the Hod and we are supposed to complete it which I can reveal as it will reveal our publication and research paper and even will hinder protocols.
Placement Experience
By the end of sem3 itself, the postgraduates are deployed into interviews for certain internships. But if you are with good academic scores and knowledge you can even get directly placed. Every individual is given 3 chances by the college to get and crack the interview but if the student is not able to then he is guided to where to apply but mostly ICRI makes sure everyone is placed as the college proudly stays with its 100% placement tag line. As I told here there are varied background people here with different needs of roles, the highest package I have seen getting is 15L pa to the lowest of 3L pa which even depends upon the company to your broad spectrum of knowledge. To specify which companies come here for recruitment are sun pharma, Cipla, and many more there are all 20+ companies that come and hire the intellectuals. To specify about me I am planning to get a CRC post as a start for CRA in the future.
Fees and Financial Aid
The master's course for clinical research goes for around 4.5L for the entire academic year which is divided into estimated 3 parts, admission fees 50k and the remaining 2L per year as annual fees. These fees even vary from campus to campus as ICRI is a brand it has its varied campuses across India, this variation is because of its affiliation with different universities. So you can choose your campus accordingly prior to admission and your course budget but mostly try to sneak out for Pune or Mumbai campus as Pune is tied up with dy Patil and Mumbai is the place for intern and placement valuation. To contradict there are no such scholarships up to what i have seen here but under certain circumstances, there are some financial aid provided to the respective academic holder. The best part about the Mumbai campus from which I belong is that by the end of sem3, you are already placed in a good company for intern and even for placement in the first place.
Campus Life
As my master's college started in the pandemic I had to face down this academic year completely online so I didn't hear or report any such fest here in this college life but not to miss out, I can assure you the industrial visit part is the best you could get in this campus of ICRI. Every year the IV goes to different states or even out of the nation as per the student's demand and you can have a great experience to broadcast on your curriculum vitae. There is a small section of the Library, this library mostly contains certain reference books for old protocols and even some guided journals to help us out to do our publication and even opt for the thesis for Ph.D. The classrooms are big enough to fit 50 students at a time with a basketball court downstairs. There are no social groups as I enquired on this campus but under certain campuses, there are those which are even run by administrators and even students solely.
