Remarks

LSR has its own magic. The college is very well managed. Its a very hospitable environment with an unusual calmness. Every girl rightly says, you can take her out of LSR but not LSR out of her.

Entrance Preview

I got admission in LSR on the basis of my 12th grade result. I got a 96.6% in humanities stream and made to the cut off list for economics. I opted for LSR because it topped the ranking as the best college in arts and social sciences by indiatimes.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I was a part of the semester system. The course in economics consisted of around 24 subjects with approximately 4 subjects each semester. The main subjects were microeconomic theory, macroeconomic theory, statistics and maths. We had optional courses as well, in the later semesters, LSR offers simple optional papers.

Internships Opportunities

Internships at the undergraduate level are not a lot but many big companies do come to take interns such as Jindal and Steel, Barclays etc. Stipend offered is around 25k-35k per month and takes place in the summer vacations.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement cell of LSR works really hard to get a lot of companies on board from Takshila to Mckinsey. The companies are placed into three categories according to the pay they offer. With very few companies which offer 10lac/annum and above, a lot of companies come which offer 6-10 lac/annum or below. According to the figures, out of the students who apply for placements, about 90% of them get placed but that is only for specific courses.

College Events

4.5

There several department fests which take place throughout the year. Annually celebrated in the college fest called Tarang where colleges around the country participate in different events. Every year the sports club organises an annual sports meet. Also, annually as a part of National Social Service scheme, Diwali Mela is organised which only organised for charitable causes. Also, some departments like economics organise winter school which invites in international students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is minimal which varies around rupees 7000 to 12000 per year for different courses. In Economics, had to pay around rupees 10000 yearly at the college bank.

Fees and Financial Aid

scholarships are offered to the yearly toppers in different courses. Also, at the time of admission there is a test for scholarship which any student can take.

Campus Life

5

LSR is woman's college with a lot of people taking admission from different states in the country. The campus has the best infrastructure and is fairly clean and green. The campus life is not very happening but its fairly decent with monthly cultural programs, extra curriculars, competitions etc.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel rooms are neat and are mostly two person sharing basis. The mess food is quality. The hostel rooms are few and go to those with the hihest marks and who come from far destinations. The PG rates in South Delhi are high with aproxx. 10000 rupees including food, wifi etc.

Alumni/Alumna

The college has an active alumna committee. Also, seniors are very helpful, its a family sort of an environment. Seniors are willing to share their notes, question papers, books, and also guide you for any career issues.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is planned by Delhi University and is according to its guidelines. However, internals are kept according to interest of the students.

Faculty

5

The faculty is exceptionally good. The teachers are very hardworking and are solely responsible for my interest in the subject. They motivate us to go beyond the course and explore new affairs. There is a special bond that the students and faculty share. Several faculty members present papers at conferences worldwide. Papers and presentations are major part of the learning process.
