Remarks

The excellent participation of Architecture Department in NASA, ZONASA, COA etc are so proud to remark. Many opportunities and experiences can be attained from here. Also there is a magical unity among TKMians.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Course curriculum comes under KTU which has a little bit packed schedule compared to previous university. It gives you mostly restless days. Also it is not upto mark related to study trips and internship. both are limited than previous KU curriculum. Theory and Drawing exams are there. The core subject is Design and it has a jury at the end of the sem.

Placement Experience

0.5

Architecture Department don't have placements here. But we can apply to the placements cell of the collegd for other placements related to B- tech. There is a compulsory internship in our 7th sem Its purely based on individual portfolio and activities. college has no role in it.

College Events

5

College hosts Techno- Cultural fest every year. Our Architecture Department has been conducting seperate events related to architecture in it. It includes talks of great architects, workshops, games, design competitions, informals, culturals, fine arts etc. very good participation are seen every year. students come from all over Kerala. And we also put a stall named "Cardex" which sells out handicrafted products of ours.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is same as other govt. colleges. in case of management seats extra donation must be given at the beginning but later on fee will be same as others. It is very feasible. Because other private Architecture college fees goes upto 1 lakh per annum.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

I haven't availed any since I belongs to general category. But there are Central Sector Scholarship and some others also applicable for general, based on income. College offers some scholarships and loans.

Campus Life

4

For Architecture there are no much labs needed. We mainly have studios for design works. There are other clubs and organisations for different sectors including film, politics, art, music, technicals etc. The gender ratios are quite equal I think. I don't see any gender or caste or religion partitions in any of these. All are welcome everywhere. Even its Muslim management college such expected partitions are clearly not seen. College union are there selected by student election.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are 5 ladies hostels owned by the college itself. one room is shared by 4 to 5 students. infrastructure changes in each hostels. one s exclusively for first years. Hostel seats were limited then but recently a new block was constructed. There is also an international facilitated hostel. wifi rooms and gym are avaliable in all hostels. The monthly fee ranges from 3000 to 5000 including mess which serves quality meals.

Alumni/Alumna

There is a alumni society for TKM which is running very successfully. Many donations and programmes are done by them. Also the senior students are very helpfull in many academic related things and extra curricular activities.

Admission

Architecture course was choosen since I think its my cup of tea. TKM is a government aided college. We always prefer govt. colleges and also I heard Tkm as the best among the 4 govt. architectural colleges of kerala. The admission was purely based on NATA entrance exam in which I secured 83rd rank. So I got alloted here in the first allotment itself. There waa no any other interviews.

Faculty

4.5

Faculties are well qualified and the best. Most of them are Tkm alumnis and alumnis of IIT, CEPT etc. academics are run very well by them. Even though a tension builtup with our Hod recently related to not promoting extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The variety in the curriculum which provide exposure to various other fields which helps in finding out our strength and weakness. The internships provide a real world application of the course . The opportunity to assist in a real project The curriculum should be developed providing more opportunity for students to engage in outside activities The previous semesters exams happens during the starting of next semester which interrupts the course

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel like some of the subjects exam duration can be a little more because I think we can have a little more time in drafting and everything, and also can bring new techniques and practices in this field to the curriculum. The exams are held semester-wise.

Remarks:

Negative remark is that infrastructure wise it college is a bit back providing just the basic needs of the students alone. They do not take any initiative for the extracurricular activities and also have many problems with the surroundings.

Admission:

Admission here is given on the basis of rank secured in NATA. With my rank I cleared the cutoff in general category in third round. I want my college to be near my home. So I can travel daily from my home. With my rank this was the best option I was getting and hence I opted for this.

This is as lush green campus situated on a small hill. I would say the best memories of my life are related to this campus. It would be the best place for any body who look for a good campus life. Infrastructure for architecture department is limited but a new building is in construction and soon will be open.
