Remarks

The college environment is pretty competitive in nature but it trains you for the future. One could expect the best 3 years of their life if they build a small social group which they can open up to. The 3 years would be much more beneficial if an individual keeps pushing oneself and tries to participate in numerous activities and learn from them.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is based on CBCS DU syllabus. The semester system makes it a bit hectic as internals start just one month after the commencement of the semester. However, the curriculum is based on accountancy, business and economics along with laws, taxation, etc.

Placement Experience

4.5

There are ample opportunities for placements and internships. The highest package goes upto ?31 Lakhs p. a. and the average CTC is over ?8 LPA. A wide range of profiles come to recruit such as Consulting, Finance, Research, hour, Marketing and others. Companies like the Big 4 or McKinsey, Bain, Accenture come to campus. The internship opportunities are available as well and various companies come to hire with stipend going upto ?150000 per month.

College Events

4.5

There are huge number of societies in the college and regular fests keep on happening, especially in the even semesters (Sem 2, 4, 6). The 2 biggest fests are Business Conclave and Crossroads organised by The Students' Union. There are fests organised by other societies and clubs as well which cover almost every field - music, dance, dramatics, computers and mathematics, commerce, economics, history, politics, literature, etc. The average footfall for various fests ranges from 1500-75000, depending on the size and nature of the fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible and government funded. Per semester fees is about ?15000. This doesn't include accommodation or food. Hostel facility is available to limited number of students based on merit as well as need.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loan facilities are not available but there are ample scholarship opportunities available. Most of the scholarship facilities are based on the financial needs of the individuals but there are a couple which are based on merit as well. One such example is the MitsubishI scholarship which is awarded based on the merit.

Campus Life

3

Gender ratio is almost equal. A few student gatherings are organised by the college's students' union. A huge number of workshops are held and most of them are informative. As mentioned before there are ample cultural societies and societies based on student diversity such as the North-east cell. The college environment is respectful of diversity in terms of gender, race, caste and sexual orientation. However, the administration tries to restrict even healthy political discussion and events.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I have been living in a PG and they are a bit expensive with rent ranging from 13000-21000 for a double sharing room. But there are ample PGs and rented flats available near the college itself. The PG rent includes food and maintenance. The average rental for a rented flat would also sum up to the same amount if you include food, maintenance, etc.

Alumni/Alumna

The college seniors are extremely helpful and offer advise based on the general experience. The societies help in interaction with the seniors and gelling up with them is beneficial. Networking in the college is pretty easy. The alumnI base is pretty wide and has helped in the development of the college over the years.

Admission

I wanted to pursue BCom (Hons) and it is the best college in the country for this course. The admission is based on cutoff on 12th grade marks. The cutoff is extremely high and the lowest it goes for general category students is about 97. 5%. The cutoffs are different for various reserved categories.

Faculty

4

The faculty is extremely qualified and motivated. They are extremely approachable and can be of immense help outside the classroom as well. Most of the faculty is either already holding a doctorate or are in the course of getting a PhD. Each professor is capable of teaching at least 3 different subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculam is well-structured and covers all the core subject relevant to the field . It help in building strong theroritcial knowledge but lacks enough real-world case studies and industry exposure . Exam are conducted regularly and are of moderate difficulty . Adding more project-based or skill oriented components would make the course more practical and beneficial for placements or higher studies .

When students enter 3rd year of their college , they are eligible to sit for placements but should have minimum 8 CGPA .A lot of companiess visit campus , details of companies are on the website of college. The highest placement till now is 20 Lakhs per Annum and average goes around 6-7 Lakhs per Annum. A decent percentage of students get placed. Honestly most students here are pursuing professional courses so they don't sit for placements instead continue with their courses .
