Remarks

Every thing has its positive and negative side. It all depends on how we see anything. I will these were 4 best years of my life. Those days will always be with me along with friends and memories. Saying that's its also that there is always scope for betterment.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum were as per standard set by AICTE under WBUT guidelines, however I felt that a pass out was not ready for industry without proper training. Semesters & Practical exams were scheduled twice a year and internal exams were scheduled twice per semester. Best of the two internal exams marks were considered.

Placement Experience

4.5

Almost all the qualified candidates got campus placement. Mostly around 80% alone in TCS & Infosys. Almost all major IT Gianst came for campus placement and most students decided to join TCS and Infosys.

College Events

3.5

Annually 2 tech fests & 1 cultural events were organized by the students. A freshers party for 1st year students was organized by 2nd year students and farewell party was organized by 3rd year students. SaraswatI Puja, NetajI Birthday and Blood Donation were organized by the college authorities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

When I joined the college the per semester fees was hiked from 30000 per semester to 40000 per semester which was very high compared to our seniors, other students of govt. college, however it was reasonable as compared to other private colleges of other states.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship programs were not available by college or university but few can get from government programs. Getting an education loan was easy and most students opted for the same. Rate of interest was around 11%.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio in it was almost equal. There was almost harmony between everyone in the department but there was almost an un called debate between bengalI vs Bihari. Politics was also active with time to time protests against the ill doings of college and university.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

As I live in Howrah I opted not to stay in hostel or PG. However our college didn't had hostel back then. Most of the students used to live in nearby mosses and PG which were reasonably priced and good hospitality were provided by the landlord. There was a bit difficult for Vegetarian students like me though.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior were very helpful specifically immediate seniors. After 1st semester they become friendly and helped with readymade assignments drawings important topics in semesters etc. There books notes linking with library also helped me a lot.

Admission

The admission procedure was lengthy but simple. Here I'm sharing my experience as a general candidate without any quota reservation. The minimum eligibility criteria was a 60% in 10th, 65% in PCM in 12th and college and stream or department were alloted by WBJEE according to the rank obtained in WBJEE. My rank was 16555 so I got chance in IT in NSEC in counseling. You can also opt for wait list. My get luck and get better college or stream or both.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty members were very well qualified and professional in there approach under the leadership of HOD Dr. Chandan Banerjee. Even the lab assistant were very helpful in clearing every doubts of the students. However there was a little bit of language barrier.

Well as far as mh knowledge students get to placements from 6th semester itself . Well there are placement classes from 3rd semester itself . The placement track record of the college is quite good with most year about 90% gets placed with good companies comming like Deloitte, EY GDS , JP MORGAN, Oracle , offering high amount of placement offers like around 20+ lpa . Well I am not sure about my plans maybe if the palacement is good I'll take it or will be preparing for GATE (Whose courses are also provided from college .)

Placement Experience:

The senario of placement in all of the private colleges of West Bengal are more or less the same. Majority of the students are placed in Service Based Companies like TCS, Wirpo, Infosys, HCL, Accenture, Cognizent, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, etc. These companies offer anywhere from 3.6 to 6 lpa packages. Only a handful of Product based companies come in these private colleges and cherry pick 2-3 student per college only. This is the reality of all the private colleges, not just our college. If you want to crack a high paying job, you will have to do it off campus. The students are eligible for internships from the 6th semester itself. The college does try to provide internship to students but only a few students end up getting the internships and most students need to find internships on their own. Some companies which came in 24-25 session which offered an internship and PPO are Amazon, SAP Labs, Accenture, etc. For a detailed placement stat, go to our college's website and look for training and placement stats. The college is honest in putting these stats. The stats are mostly reliable. The highest off campus placement in 24-25 session was by Snehadeep De, who secured a SDE role in Amazon with 47 lpa CTC. This was off campus so the college had no role to play here. The highest on campus placement was by two students in the company Juspay. They were offered the SDE role for 27 lpa CTC. The average placement of all the CS branches will be around 5-6 lpa. And approximately around 60-65% of the students get placed. This is the ground reality. And its the same in all of the WB private colleges. If you want to keep a backup option in case you don't want to get a 3.6 lpa job then start preparing for GATE, CAT or Civil Services from your second year. Its always preferred to have a backup option cause you can't trust a private college for providing you jobs.
