Remarks

Positives are more than the negatives. I think the biggest negative is that mechanical department of college is weak in case of placements and practical work. However rest departments are very good. Students can develop other essential qualities while studying in college.

Course Curriculum Overview

Students can enjoy their study and ambience is positive there owing to this students can concentrate on their studies. They also focus on practical work. Also, they conduct three minor exams in a semester on the basis of which they send final marks of practical that is grades of the student depend upon hard work done by the student.

Placement Experience

Record of placements is exceptional. Students get lucrative jobs after completion of their degree. Hundreds of companies visit college for placements and some of the big names are wipro, cognizant etc.

College Events

CGC also focus on extra curricular activities. They organise annual fest and name of the fest is Parivartan. This fest consists of various technical and non technical events and it is the blend of cultures from different states. Apart from this, they also organise various other events related to sports like Landran cricket league.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is similar to other colleges which are affiliated to the same university which means it is not very expensive and education there is affordable. Fee structure also depends upon whether a student is choosing hostel facility or not.

Scholarship is given by the college to the bright students and also very low cost education is provided to the poor students based on grades in previous classes. Also some scholarships are provided by the departments for practical work done by students.

Campus Life

They are pretty good at organising events based on extracurricular activities. Various sports competitions are organised by the college and students also take part in several events organised at university level.

Hostel Facilities

There hostels can accommodate a lot of students. And infrastructure of hostel is very good and desert coolers are provided by the hostel in every room. Quality of food is good but if you compare it with home then yes there is difference but still student will like food over there.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is very good. They organise alumni meets in which all the alumni are called to share their experience as a student and as a professional. Also, party is organised for students who left the college couple of years ago.

Admission

I got admission through AIEEE exam through the university counselling. And name of the university is IKGPTU. Students can get admission through their performance in competitive exams. Nowadays admission is based on JEE exam

Faculty

Faculty in the college is very experienced and hard working. There is mixture of young teachers as well as experienced. Tecahers are very cooperative and guide their students towards the path of success.

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.
Canteen and water facilities and park in both deptts
Skilled professional educators and tutors

Dislikes

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

Placement Experience:

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

If we Complaint about anything college mostly ignore it

From 7th sem students become eligible for campus placements and tata or Infosys companies visited and about 60 to 70 percent students were placed and my plans after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies doing mtech from iit

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience
Hostel mess food is not good at some time
Placement is decent and average as like other collage

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The sports and the various facilities that they provide for relaxing
The Library that remains open till 10-11 at night for those who wish to study till late
Great mentors and very helpful teachers who are always willing to help

The hectic schedule and curriculum that the students have to follow.
The lack of certain facilities that would help the students improve thoer personalities
Too much strictness and restrictions with everything that someone wishes to do

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum

I applied for thappar university, patiala but on basis of my jee mains result they offers me mechanical branch in which I was not interested. My jee mains percentile was 86. The fees structure of these college was less as compared to other colleges and it provides better knowledge and have good infrastructure as compared to others college that's why i choose these college on others. Honest ???? review

I am choosing this college because for engineering degree many colleges asked for our jee score and I'm not given my jee exam due to not having preparation of syllabus and on that time there is criteria of 75% above for applied for filling the jee examination. And I'm not fulfilled this. So that's why I need one best private college for my bachelor's which is fit for according to there academics, placements, campus environment, etc overall good . So I find this is good. There are so many others private colleges are there but there fees are not budget friendly for any middle class student. In CGC College of engineering there you can take admission by two methods :- 1)One is through ptu councelling:- if u are take admission through ptu councelling then there is relaxation in fees then ur academic fees is around 20,000 l/sem. 2) other one is through direct admission. There is no specific criteria but you have to score 70% above then you can get admission in any stream that you have to desire.
