Remarks

It is called India's best college for business education for a reason. The world-class academic experience as well as the global exposure given there is unparalleled. When I moved forward into a corporate employment later, I never felt the change usually felt by others. On the other hand, I was able to excel and even lead my seniors at work very soon and very capably, and this I owe completely to the experiences I have had in college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is extremely intensive, covering all subjects that one can imagine or yearn to study during or as part of a course in Accounting and Commerce. The college folloqws a CBCS (Choice Based Credits System), where the student can choose the subjects for each semester. There are a total of 6 semesters, and exams are held in the months of May & December. Exams are challenging, so are the subjects. I also had the privilege to extensively study GST, a new tax law at that time.

Placement Experience

4.5

There are amazing opportunities with regard to placements and job opportunities. Known as one of the country's best colleges, the place usually attracts the best of employers, including the Big Four (Deloitte, KPMG, EY & PwC) among other leading Financial Institutions (Deutsche Bank, Bain Consulting), with packages ranging upto Rs. 39 Lakhs per annum. Internship opportunities are aplenty, with internship fairs regularly held at our college specifically for this purpose.

College Events

4.5

Our college is known very widely for its extravagant events and festivals held very often. The main festival, Crossroads, is a gala of an event, where cultural superstars are invited to perform. All events, a total of around 50 a year, are fully funded externally, and organised completely organised by the students, including sourcing sponsorship.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a government college abiding by the rules of the UGC (University Grants Commission), the fees is very nominal, amounting to around Rs. 8,000 a semester. There are no extra fees collected, other than library penalties, etc. , Everything else is taken care of by the University.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are a number of scholarships available in the college, both constituted by the government as well as some reputed alumni organisations of the college. All are again marks-based, and depends on the marks you obtain in each semester. The results of the scholarships are either put up in the college website or announced on the Annual Day.

Campus Life

4

To be frank, there is almost more emphasis on extra-curricular activities than academics in our college, which I would personally claim makes our college what it is. Student societies in respect of a variety of aspects - academic, art, linguistic, cultural and sports - number around 60, and there is also a world-class stadium in-campus constructed as part of the Commonwealth Games 2010. The student population is extremely diverse.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes, for my first year, I opted to stay at the college in-campus hostel. It is fairly good, like a typical hostel. Nothing special, though I felt the food could have been better, considering the diversity in the student population.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors, especially those at the hostel are very very helpful and go beyond expectations to help out the freshers. In every aspect, academic or otherwise, they are there to support and guide us. Alumni organisations are available, which mainly help us financially through scholarships.

Admission

It was fully based on the marks scored in the 12th Standard Examinations. I had scored enough marks to cross the cut-offs published for the 2015-18 batch, which usually happens in the third week of June. Prior to that, one has to register for admissions in the Delhi University website during the third week of May. There is also another course available, that is, B. A. Economics (Honours), but my interest was in the field of accounting, hence I chose this course.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college are extremely brilliant, proactive, intellectual and charismatic. Classes are just wonderful, professors are not very strict and mostly flexible. Additionally, I was pursuing the Chartered Accountancy course, and I was appearing for my CA Intermediate Examinations alongside. The faculty helped me a lot in regard of the same.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculam is well-structured and covers all the core subject relevant to the field . It help in building strong theroritcial knowledge but lacks enough real-world case studies and industry exposure . Exam are conducted regularly and are of moderate difficulty . Adding more project-based or skill oriented components would make the course more practical and beneficial for placements or higher studies .

When students enter 3rd year of their college , they are eligible to sit for placements but should have minimum 8 CGPA .A lot of companiess visit campus , details of companies are on the website of college. The highest placement till now is 20 Lakhs per Annum and average goes around 6-7 Lakhs per Annum. A decent percentage of students get placed. Honestly most students here are pursuing professional courses so they don't sit for placements instead continue with their courses .
