Review of my college

My review is quite average. In case of academic my colleges is quite good. But every coin has two sides. Being a off campus we are neglected by the main campus and don't get some of the facilities we have paid for. Noone is allowed outside the hostel after 10pm.

We celebrate the annual fest of our campus named as 'Anekragam' during March to April. Every type of sports cricket, football, table tennis, badminton, Cultural events like Dance, song, DramaRangoli, traditional cooking, Jhoti and athletic activities, Academic activities like debate, quiz and many more competitions is done. We distribute ourselves in three teams and the winning team is awarded with trophy and certificates at the end of the fest.

Though thee fees structure is average still it is more compare to the other central University. For Msc the fee is around 40000 for two years where the PhD fees is around 60000 per 3 year. You have to pay around 23000rs for the admission, in 2nd semester 3000rs. 3rd sem 13000rs. 4th sem 3000rs. This amount has increased this year. I took admissiom in 2018 and paid 17900rs, 2135rs, 9400rs and 2000rs. For the 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th semester respectively.

Our college give 1000rs. Studentship to each Msc students. The PhD students are paid 8000rs. per month. Anyway the students are allowed to apply for any other scholarships by Govt of India. Some of PhD students get the fellowship by UGC and Rajiv Gandhi and Moulana azad fellowships.

The gender ratio in my batch is same. We are 23 boys and 23 girls. The campus feels like a Mini India as students from almost all state of the country are studying here. We celebrate the festivals of all culture and religion. Each year two student representatives(1 boy and 1 girl) are selected by means of vote. Both boys and girls got same facilities. The economic status is quite average.

Yes, I m staying in hostel. The rooms are good except 2 - 3 rooms which wall gets wet at rainy season. Boys only pay 900rs for 1year for staying where Girls stay for free. 2nd year and PhD students stay 2people each room Whree 1st year guys stay 3 in each room.

Being in a off campus we have not have get any chance to meet the aluminis. But the seniors and phd students are quite helpful and friendly. They help in conduct the practical in lab. They guide us as friend as well as teacher.

I got admitted to the department of ocean studies and marine biology for post graduation. First of all the course is fascinating and this is the off campus of Pondicherry University situated at the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Island. This is one of the best college for marine biology. I got AIR 26 in the entrance examination and got admitted to the department.

There are three professors and Four Assistant professors. They are so friendly and well qualified. They are the encyclopedia in their specific topic. There are many project of MOES And UGC are running under them. Prof. J. K. Mishra teaches Physical Oceanography, Marine biotechnology, Marine biodiversity and conservation. Prof. R. Mohanraju has specialized in Marine microbiology and he is basically a field person. Prof. P. M Mohan has specialized in Meobenthis studies, Coral and Mangrove ecosystem. Other Assistant professors control the department like fisheries, Aquaculture, Macrobenhos, Environmental issues and etc.
