I cleared DBT-JNU CEEB Exam. I ranked 540 in all India ranking. In time of counseling I choose pondicherry University, department of Biotechnology around 31 universities all over India for it's beautiful campus environment, diverse and vibrant faculty members along with lab, a good track record and placement record.

The course structure is very organized.we have 4 semesters. In each semester we have around 5 or 6 theory papers including 4 to 5 practical papers. We are having credit based choice system. We can have any subject of interest from other department as softcore.Each Theory paper is having 3 credit and the practical papers are having 1 credit respectively. Like if u passed in a subject, You will get the credit.In last semester we only have a dessertation work in a separate lab. Total 72 credit we have collect for MSc degree.

Yes they provide summer internships for students from other universities. Any interested student can come here and will experience an effective summer laboratory practical experience. Only if you are interested in any respective field of biology matches with any of our professors work, just mail him or her with your CV. If he is interested to take you, then you will get selected. Hostel accommodation and stiphened will be provided to you. For our university student we have to do the summer internship from any recognized lab in India. We get stiphened from DBT.

Department provides several seminars and interview opportunity to student in various reputed company and industries of their respective field. Several pharmaceutical and aquaculture companies come and hire students. They provide 30000 rupees per month along with accommodation and food.

Several techfests are organized by the engineering department. As well as various science day celebration, seminars are organized by the science departments. Several departmental cultural fest are organized inside the campus. Various regional cultural festivals are organized here. An yearly sports meet is organized here inside the campus.

In our department we have to pay rupees 5000 for the 1st semestar, 1000 for the 2nd semester, 9000 for the third semestar and 2000 for the final semester respectively. A separate Hostel and mess fee of rupees 20000 is given yearly to the university..

Scholarships will be provided by the university to the top rankers of different departments. A yearly Scholarships of rupees 3000 given to each of the student. For jnu students like us in our department, we use to get a stipend of rupees 5000 per month from DBT.

Pondicherry university is well known for its beautiful campus and it's campus life. We have a really diverse student community from different parts of India. Yes it's a politics free campus.several cultural fests such as hostel day, department fest are organized yearly.

We have several number of university hostels separately for PG and PhD students along with 24 our electricity, water supply filter in each floor and common room. We have separate mess for PG 1st year, PG 2nd year and PhD students. It is placed in the southern tip of our country so the food quality is bit avarage for the north people. Otherwise it's ok. We have 3 canteens inside the campus.

Alumnis are really helpful. They will guide you in every aspect of your course work. You will get any information from them regarding any exam, scholership, event etc. A specific alumni site is managed by university website and several alumni meets are organized.

We have separate internal exams of each subjects apart from the final exam in each months. Yes, this is bit hectic, but fruitfull. Also department provide enough lab training to sharpen your experience, and that is really awesome. The lab scholars are very friendly and helpful.

Pondicherry university is one of the prestigious and top ranking university of our country. Our MSc Biotechnology course is affiliated under Department of Biotechnology, Govt of India. Every year a unique All India common entrance test (JNU-CEEB) has been organized by JNU new Delhi associated with DBT for getting admission in those DBT funded MSc Biotechnology course in Affiliated universities in India The official notification of this exam used to come in strating of Feb or end of jan.You can check that following link (https://admissions.jnu.ac.in). There are 31 universities in that list including Jnu,Bhu,Hcu and many more..Our university is one of them. So I cleared this exam and we had to give our choice of respective university in time of counseling.I gave my preference to this university and after the selection I got call letter from both DBT and Pondicherry university.

We have numerous numbers of highly qualified professors, who are highly established in their respective field of interest with various national and international collaboration. We have total 9 individual labs in our department such as Epigenetics and protein engineering, Merine biology and aqua culture, Plant biotechnology and genetic engineering, Fungal Biotechnology, Stem cell biology, Molecular plant breeding, Radiation Biology, Infectious disease biology, Natural product lab respectively. Department is well equipped with many lab facilities and instruments. Professors enlighten us about field of Biotechnology in perspective of modern research with their Worthy lectures.
