SMIT has one of the best campuses with noise and pollution-free environment, which provides a perfect environment for the students to learn. I have published a paper in SCI journal and was provided with an incentive amount of Rs.1667/-. Also, one of our projects was funded by SMU. SMIT has helped me a lot to grow professionally as well as personally and will be always thankful to this wonderful college.

The course curriculum of SMIT is phenomenal. The entire marks for the semester are divided into two parts i.e. Internals and Externals. For the internals numerous exams like Sessionals, Quizzes are conducted where students have the opportunity to improve themselves. For the Externals, exams are conducted at the end of the semester.

Many renowned companies like Microsoft, Shell, Dell, Byju's, Bosch, etc visit SMIT every year for placement drives. More than 95% of the students get placed every year and move ahead to a brighter future. Summer internships are provided by the college and some of the companies recruit 3rd-year students for internships.

SMIT hosts a lot of events which includes various departmental fests, workshops, marathons, technical fests, etc. SMIT also organises TED-X, IEEE workshop, Conferences, Entrepreneur Meets to name a few. But the major attraction is KAALRAV which is the biggest cultural fest in North East where national and international celebrities are invited to perform.

The fees all in all is feasible for a private college and worth for money. For an ECE student, it is around 13-14 lakhs for 4 years. One can get scholarship up to 30% according to his class 12th score. State quota and sports quota is also applicable for eligible students.

I have been provided with State quota, in which there is 75% concession in the tution fees which is a scholarship provided by the Sikkim state. Also, there is something called Benevolent Fund provided by the college where if someone dear to you dies and you are unable to pay your college fees then SMIT provides concession in the tuition fees according to your situation.

The college provides well-equipped labs for all subjects with the most advanced equipment. For sports, there is a cricket ground, football ground, volleyball court,5 basketball courts,7 badminton courts, squash courts, table tennis, lawn tennis, swimming pool, well-eqipped gym and other facilities. There are different clubs for different likings dance singing etc.

The alumni network is not very vast as the college is not very old. But comparing to colleges if the same age SMIT has a much better alumni base which always try to better the quality of the college and its reputation. People from SMIT always remember is as it is a place no one can ever forget.

I got admission on the basis of the offline exam conducted by the Sikkim Government. I had secured a good rank and was also provided with a scholarship by the state. The selection process was on the basis of my score in the offline test. My first preference was electronics and communication and luckily I was able to get into the course of my choice.

The faculties of SMIT have a very healthy relationship with students as they are very friendly, interactive and supportive. The students are always free to visit their chambers in case of doubt in subjects or regarding any personal issues. Every student is assigned with a teacher guardian who constantly keeps a check on the academic performance, attendance, personal problems, etc of the students.
