Some of the factors that made me choose this college are:- • SMIT provides an excellent placement in reputed organizations like Microsoft, Dell, Tech-mahindra, Wipro, Infosys, etc and has a placement rate of 90%. • Student exchange programmes by IAESTE-SMIT allows us to study in any of the 80 member countries. • The state-of-art infrastructure enhances the quality of education. • There is a teacher-guardian mentoring system that allows people monitoring of students in terms of academics or extracurricular activities. • Well experienced faculty members. • The Atal incubation Center that helps in mining out the Excellent Entrepreneurs.

The syllabus is updated as per the recent trends in computer science that makes. The faculties are highly experienced and qualified. Regular Workshops are provided in collaboration with IIT, ISRO and many other organisations. Faculties treat students like their own child.

Many companies like Microsoft, Wells Fargo, Dell, Wipro, Shell, TCS, IXIA, and many more offer placements to a lot of students from SMIT. The training and placement cell in SMIT helps the students to be industry ready. Highest package of 22LPA was provided by Microsoft. 90% of students are placed annually in reputed organs.

Technical events in SMIT like TedxSMIT, TechAdristha, etc are well known all across North East. Each department hosts an independent cultural fest A 3 days annual fest (Kaalrav) is hosted where stars from across India and abroad are invited.
