Remarks
Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology is situated in a very beautiful, calm and clean environment in East Sikkim. Being a nature loving person, this was one of the major factors that brought me here. Other than that the college has a very good infrastructure that ensures a proper qualitative education. The placements are really good here.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Course is well crafted in order to not only provide the knowledge of subject matters but also to make students ready for Placements by inculcating various skills like reasoning skill, communication skill, management skills and many more.The Faculties are very strict regarding the Academics. They monitor the students regularly as a part of the Teacher-Guardain scheme where one Faculty is assigned for maximum of 15 students.
Placement Experience
The TNP-SMIT works very hard to get students placed in very reputed organizations like Microsoft, Dell, Wipro, TCS, Wells Fargo, Amazon, Tech Mahindra, Bosch, Oracle, Shell, etc with average package of around 50000. Students also have recieved packages higher than 20 lacs PA by companies like Microsoft, Dell, etc.
College Events
SMIT properly balance the hectic academic schedule with a lot of Technical, Cultural and Sports events like Tech Adhristha, TedxSMIT, Kaalrav, Athlema, SMIT day, and Departmental fests like Refulgence, Ankurit, Athena and many more organised by Various clubs like Innovision, ACCESS, D-Coders, CASS, Medusa, etc where a huge number of students participate. There are numerous Innovative events organised By the IIC- SMIT like kalaamdrishti, Smart India Hackathon, etc. The department of Computer Applications proudly organize The International Conference on Computing and Communications (IC3) where the participants from India or abroad showcase their research.
Campus Life
The College has a huge sport complex (MARENA) that consists of A gymnasium, Swimming pool, Food court, Indoor basketball court, Tennis court, Badminton court, Snooker house, and provisions for many other sports.They provide us with 2 high speed wifi network.The central library consists of more than 60000 materials including books, journals, magazines, project reports, etc and has a seating capacity of around 500.The labs are well equipped with all sorts of necessary equipments.
