Honest review of SMCPT

If i have to talk about the curriculum then, overall its good. It covers all the aspect starting from very basics to the most advanced ones for both theory and practical. This course including the teachers prepares us (students) very well to face the real world applications or further academic pursuits. They emphasise more on practical based teaching then theory. If i have to give an example then its 3:7 ratio for a topic. Where 3 theory sessions and 7 practical sessions.

Internship can be done in college own hospital, Central referral hospital CRH or in Manipal academics of higher education hospital MAHE. Internship stipend is very less for physiotherapy students. As compared to mbbs and nursing. But the exposure and experience gained during internship is good.

The fees structure annually is 156000 but we can pay it on installment, i.e. 78000 half yearly. There is scholarship available for students from assam and some selected states . The main criteria to avail scholarship is, they should be having their state domicile. Students from skill also avail these facility, where they have to pay 78 thousand annually and rest amount is payed by the sikkim government.

Overall experience of the college is good. They engage us with various NSS activities for our extra curricular development. Theres annual college day celebration every year Convocation for passing out students AURA, annual cultural fest. HUSTLE, annual sports fest SMCPT, sports meet And various one day events, like yoga, etc. The range of journals available in library is very good with very good infrastructure in library. Library has got air conditioning, propre seats and lots of books. Classrooms are all equipped with power point presenters. Gender champions and the representative are the spine of student that lead them.

Theres no entrance exam for this course. You dont have to give neet aswell. Eligibility- 12 pass with above 50 percent in bio chem and physics Application forms are availa Online aswell as offline at the college. At the time of admission you have to pay some extra amount, like 5 thousand for something like student safety. They said they'll return that amount 5 thousand when we will finish our course. All together theres 4 exams in one academic year. 1st sessional 2nd sessional 3rd sessional (pre university) 4th sessional (university) And a lot of part completion tests PCT in between for every chapter completed . The testes and exams are a little bit hectic though.

Every faculty have done masters in various feilds. Some of them have completed their Phd degrees. All of them have good skills both theory and practical based. Most of them are very approachable and they genuinely try their level best to solve our problems and doubts. Most of the teachers keep their class as an interactive one.
