Remarks

I can assure you that SMIT provides one of the best college experiences in India. The faculty here are very supportive, they help each student with their doubts, encourages them to be innovative, and contribute their understanding to the research and development in science and technology. The study pattern is very simple over there, every day we have a new thing to learn, that made our subjects more interesting to study. The study procedure is more than just about studies but deeply in knowledge and practicality. There are many labs that support each student to have both theoretical and practical knowledge of all subjects. Our Institute made sure that the whole course syllabus was up to the mark and that each student gets the best education. All the authorities are very supportive, which makes the overall investing four years here worth it.One of most secure campus for girls (follow the SMIT Youtube channel) and the best part is faculty members are staying in the campus. They are always ready to help you even at mid night. You will find yourself in a place ?ÛÏhome away from home?۝.The biggest challenge for an engineering graduate is to get a decent job or a startup or a platform from where he/she can pursue her higher studies right after getting a Degree as he/she would have invested a lot of money, time and hardwork. Very few colleges have infrastructures to meet all these demands and SMIT is one of them.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course and the curriculum is up to date. The college is known for its academics and values academics and co-curricular activities equally. They also encourage the students to be part of different fests, hackathons, competitions, etc. in all the departments.SMIT has one of the most brilliant professors and faculty members of the nation. They are your teachers, parents and friends. They are ready to help and guide you in all fields and at any time. You have got some great faculties from the likes of IIT, NITs and even IISC.If you are a decent student in academics and your vocal skills are good, you are bound to crack a good job.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements at SMIT is respectable. Despite the fact that it is located on a mountain and the fact that the states around it barely have any reputably scaled industry, there is 95% placements for all those who wish to sit for it (despite there being many who quit the placement rounds at the last moment to opt for better opportunities [read: off campus]).However there is a downside to it: Mechanical and Civil departments barely have any good on-campus placements in core companies due to the relatively low sizes of the departments and the fact that, yes we are stuck on a mountain. But then again, you should remember that placements are all subjective. If you have a keep interest on your subject, you can easily shoot beyond Rs.10 lpa and just start a company. Or you can wash-out and end up opening a coffee shop outside the campus gates. It is ultimately, your call.

Campus Life

4.5

The life at campus is amazing and mesmerizing. SMIT is surrounded by mountains on three sides and river Teesta on one side, so the view is quite captivating which also provides the student a good environment to concentrate and study. The social life is very good. People are very friendly and helpful. There are also a variety of clubs which include some tech clubs, dance club, the designing club, the music club, etc. All the clubs are very good and the club coordinators are also very interactive. SMIT central library has an excellent collection of 58816 books, 18997 titles, 2500 periodicals along with the following facilities: Lending service, reference service, database searching, digital library, book bank service, question bank service, current awareness service, CD Rom and DVDs, reprographic service, newspaper clippings, Internet service and Wi-Fi, library intranet service. The library also provides EPAC (electronic public access catalogue) service. The labs include civil engineering lab, chemistry lab, physics lab, electrical lab, electronics lab, mechanical lab and computer lab.The Institute has a total number of 4 hostel, 2 for boys and 2 for girls with the facility of attached bathroom, night canteen, lift, etc. There are separate students?Ûª mess and canteen for boys and girls providing vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals and a food court for all.For sports, there is badminton court, basketball court, cricket ground, football ground, squash court, swimming pool, tennis court, table tennis, snooker, volleyball court and one of the biggest gym of north-eastern India. There are quite a few cafeteria. The medical facilities are also good.

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology

Exam Structure

MU OET or MET - 2019 108/200

Admission

The process is quite simple and user-friendly. I had to give only an entrance exam, i.e. MU OET or the MET exam. After that, I had a slot booking round in my nearest Manipal campus, where I met some of the faculties too. From there, they guided and helped me to get to the campus safe and secure. On arriving at the campus, we have a registration on the first day and that's all.

Previous year highest package is 55 lakh ,which had given to two students from eee branch. This year highest package is 35 lakh . Which is offered by two students. The course curriculum is pretty outdated, they need to update it. The professors try to accomodate and teach stuff out of the syllabi as per the emerging trends. The difficulty level is average and the exams are easy to score on.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B pharmacy is a professional course and if influenced me to choose this course This course prepares you for real world application starting from communication to discipline every thing is taught in this course one becomes very disciplined and dedicated to this course once they opt for it The improvement required is to give proper gaps between sessional and semister examination as it puts too much stress on student and the faculty at the ending rushes and completes the syllabus in a hurry without proper explaination and just gives ppts at the end and sometimes doesnt even complete the syllabus before semister exams . So i think this thing needs to be inproved Sessional examinations are not too hard but semister examinations are mild to hard

I do not have much idea about this field. If I'm not wrong internships begin from 2nd to 3rd year itself, and placements from 4th year. The avergae package here is around 6 LPA, and the highest package offered is 56 LPA. That'll be all from side.
