Course Curriculum Overview

Clinical and practical aspects were the reason for choosing the course. Course is pretty comprehensive and relevant for real world situations as it prepares well for clinical duty Exams are held frequently enough and they are moderate in terms of difficulty

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 1700000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly fee : 1750000 Scholarship available for sikkim students, no other scholarships available for students belonging to other states Complete course fee : 7000000 It has increased for 2024 batch and will increase for future batches

Campus Life

Annual events are few and far in between. Social aspects and club involvement is very sparse. Aura is the yearly college fest that is held. It typically occurs in the last quater of the year. Sports and extracurricular activities provided are average

Admission

The reason for choosing this college was the faculty and that it is one the best private medical colleges in northeast India as well as India as a whole. The college has a well established reputation and is one of the top ranked private medical colleges of India. It is ranked higher compared to the other colleges i considered . Admission process is very simple just have to contact the admission department.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is okay there's many faculty available to readily help students. I liked anatomy faculty the most. Aside from university exams there's sessionals and pre university exams before university exams and they are considered for internals. Internals are used as a eligibility criteria for sitting in university exams The exam difficulty is moderate

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS was always my dream course. SMIMS has the highest faculty: student ratio as much as I have read about. All the faculties have specialization in their field, Mostly MD, DM, Ph.D., and also MBBS. We usually have 2 sessional exams, 1 pre-University and 1 University exam in a year, and many small formative assessments and tests throughout the year. It is quite easy to pass those exams if one is really dedicated to studies.

One of the best medical colleges

Remarks:

It's one of the best institutions to pursue your medical profession with so much good infrastructure and lab facilities for the students to learn. And yes we have our own hospital so that we can practice our medical profession.

My overall experience in the campus is quite good. According to me, there are some aspects on which the college can work upon or should improve. Gender discrimination in case of curfews should be taken care of. The college should provide a good platform for the student-alumni interaction. Food quality could do with a lot of improvement.
