Course Curriculum Overview

3

I want to go in government jobs like ese . That's why I opt for civil engineering branch. But there is much more coding culture than these government jobs preparation culture. Here , students from eee,ece are better placed than cse students. They used to take exam after 3-4 months of starting of semester.

Internships Opportunities

5

Here, internship is 100% in every branch,(literally) Students used to start their intership from first year. Companies like vedanta, reliance, government psus and government projects . This year’s internship drive was highly successful, with 100% internships secured in CE, CSE, ECE, EEE and ME. A majority of CSE students interned in reputed IT firms, while students from Mechanical and Electrical branches explored diverse opportunities across manufacturing, energy, and consulting sectors.

Placement Experience

4

Placement is overall good here. Students from ece/eee are better placed than cse here. Here, companies like nvedia, apple has given the highest package. Previous year highest package is 55 lakh ,which had given to two students from eee branch. This year highest package is 35 lakh . Which is offered by two students. Now ,I am concluding all branch avg and placement percentage - Civil -70%placed Mechanical- 100% placed Eee-92% Ece-90% Cse/ai- 80% Overall -86% Average - 8.85 lpa Median-7.5 lpa Highest -35 lpa

Fees and Financial Aid

Firstly, there is full tution fee wavier for sc, st , pwd students and students whose family income is less than 1 lakh . But these students has to spent approx 17000 per year for other charges . Next category is whose family income between 1 lakh and 5 lakh , these students has 2/3rd tution fee wavier, & they have to pay approx 60,000 per year including every charges . 3rd category whose family income is more than 5 lakh , these students has to pay all fees , and the total amount is 1.42 lakh per annum. Now coming to hostel and mess fees - which everyone has to pay for it. Hostel charge 8000 per semester Mess fees 22000 per semester. #There is many other scholarship like nsp,pms which students used to avail for. (Extra point from my experience ---- I am from Bihar and in Bihar , there is a common family income certificate which is in the name of any earning member of family not individual mother and father seperate income certificates, they demanded me both income certificates seperately ,I can't able to fulfill that criteria to avail for less than 1 lakh family income, I have family income in name of both mother and father seperately, but they actually adds the amount and make up above 1 lakh zone , so, I had no other options then, I had to opt for 2nd category fee wavier i e 2/3rd. So, this is the biggest drawback of these scholarship criteria of iit,s and nits, government should make a common family income certificates for every state so that there is no any clashes between these criteria)

Campus Life

2

In First year, students has to stay outside the campus area. Campus area is 13 acres right now of temporary campus. Permanent campus area is going to be 120 acres . Right now in temporary campus, there is no such big halls and classroom, there is no such big labs which used to be in IITs and nits. There is a small badminton court here, a basketball court, football ground, and a small area for table tennis. That's all right now in name of sports here.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities are also not soo good . There is fixed timming for water supply. Rooms are not spacecious , there is some rooms in which 5-6 students used to live in a single small room. Here, in sikkim too much humidity is there , so , walls of rooms used to wet all the time ( dampness in walls). But view from hostel rooms are really worth watching. Mess food is above average. They used to give 4/7 days nonveg Only Tuesday ,Thursday & Saturday.they don't give non veg. But for vegetarian, there is less options. Only paneer in menu for every non veg days.

Admission

Firstly, previous year I was already in a state government college. Muzaffarpur institute of technology. So, I did my jee preparation altogether with their college things. Admission process of my college i.e NIT is jossa and csab , I got this college from csab counselling. My rank was 88k .and i got nit sikkim civil in 3rd round of csab counselling. This year ,i didn't fill any of other counselling forms .so, i have no any other options. Either nit or continuing my previous course from previous college.

Faculty

3

As everywhere, some professors are really soo good, very well qualified, has a good teaching skills , friendly in behaviour, but there is also some professors, who do not fits in above qualities. Just read ppt in class, sets irrelevant questions in exams , gives soo much irrelevant assignments regularly and also some are really irritating in nature. I can't reveal anybody's name ,(sorry)

Night Life

1

There is no night life here. Students have to come to hostel after 7 pm in night ( strictly for 1st year students) market is very far from campus. And also market used to close after 7 pm at night. There is small gym here , which is only allow after 1st year. Small library, insufficient books , small cafeteria, a small kid park in name of public area. There is soo many places to visit in sikkim here . Like budhha park, there is nearby lake ,and a already tourist place . Place is good but facilities are not sufficient.

I do not have much idea about this field. If I'm not wrong internships begin from 2nd to 3rd year itself, and placements from 4th year. The avergae package here is around 6 LPA, and the highest package offered is 56 LPA. That'll be all from side.
