Remarks

There is room for improvement in very aspect and thus from general point of view the bus services should be increased for the benefit of students,as the college is very far way from town silchar. The canteens should be more hygenic because a lot of students eat in canteen and so for their sake clean food should be given.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Its a nice course structure based on the subjects covered in 4 years of btech life.It is based on food, aquaculture, post harvest operations, instrumentation, surveying and levelling etc.It also covers some part of civil and mechanical engg.Apart from that it is based on proper agricultural process

Internships Opportunities

Yes,they provide two internships one at the end of fourth semister and another after the end of sixth semister.I did my internships from biswanath chariali in farm machinery and power and the second one from neriwalm in water resouce use and management.

Placement Experience

3

Actually in our department the faculties try very hard for placements but still suitable placement is lacking till date. Thus the student go for off campus placements and also for research works.Apart from this after gate exam the student gets opportunies in renouned iits or nits in india.

College Events

3.5

As the college is in assam, the various fests are held mainly the bengali fests, assamese fests, bodo fests, manipuri fests and so on.The tech fest organised by the engineering student is the biggest fest that take place in month of february.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible in the sense that it is approx 49k for one year ie approx 2lakhs for whole btech. The study, guidance which a student undergoes is way good and so in my opinion the fee is feasible

Fees and Financial Aid

A scholarship known as ishan uday is given to the students who have scored 75 percent in higher secendary. So in my opinion it is a very good scheme as it helps the students to undergo their day to day expenses and also keep them happy. The study books, copies, etc can be bought by these money.

Campus Life

3.5

Yeah in my opinion the he extracurricular activities, labs and sports are way good but see,in my opinion there is always room for improvement in every aspect. Thus proper notice from the respective authorities is essential.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel infraculture will need improvement.Actually the water stortage arises due to various reasons. So i would suggest that proper hostel facilities including all the necessary day to day things should be taken care of.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors and alumini are so much helpful in btech life. The seniors have helped us in each and every aspect, such as study, sharing of problems, suggestions etc. Also the alumini have also heared our suggestions for the proper development of the college.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is done in three ways. The midsem, internal and external exams. The midsem consists of 30 marks, the internal of 20 marks and the external is of 50 marks asper the new rule of cbcs.If any student fails in midsem or internal he/she cannot seat for the external exam.

Admission

Firstly there was a written exam and based on the cutoff the interview was held. The students who cleared the cutoff in written were called for the interview. As my written and interview were upto the mark and the faculties saw that this student must get a chance in this dept. So,i guess thus i was selected.

Faculty

3.5

They are preety good. They cleer our doubts and provide necessary help whenever any bad situation occurs. The most important moto of the faculty is to create a group of students who atleast have a proper concept on this subject without blindly studying just for the sake of study.

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are allowed to participate in oncampus summar internship and from. 7th semester starting they are allowed for 6 month internship and Full time roles . There is a Training and placement Cell in our college there are some heads of this cell they are senior professors and it have final year students in senior coordinator position and 3 rd year study as probationary. Students bring the companies which fulfills the criteria of TNP cell and each company have their own eligibility criteria and selection procedure. Mostly companies allows 6 cgpa without any active backlog students . But some high paying companies requires 7 or more cgpa . In 3rd year Cisco , microsoft, public sapiens, Tech Mahindra, Accenture ,Oracle and many more companies visited in our campus and hired good amounts of students for summer internship and mostly offers full time role as ppo to students. In 4th year a lots of company like Novartis, amazon, flipkart, aditya birla, Cisco , Deloitte, oracle, ukg, Motorola, siemens , IBM and many more startups visited college and hired .Some paid 15+ CTC and some 6 to 10 CTC . Almost 40% of students are placed till December this year from each branch . Personally I'm planning for taking chances to get an online internship and then try to go for higher studies abroad in automation and robotics.

In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.
