What you need to know before joining.

The college is in the middle of the hills of Dehradun. It is surrounded by nature and forests. The weather and vibes are always very pleasant here. The college overall is satisfactory as the fees they demand is higher than the services/ opportunities/facilities they provide.

Course curriculum is really advanced. It gets updated regularly according to the real life demands of the world. Every semester we have mid semester exams weighting 20% of total grades, end semester grades weighting 50% of the total grades and 30% is internals which includes attendance, assignments, tests etc.

Yes, our college do provide internships and job opportunities. The placements record is above 90% here but the average is 5-7 lacs per annum. You'll get opportunities for placements but then competition is very high and you have to be deserving enough for very good packages. Same is the case for internships.

We have several student chapters in college which keep organizing exciting events in college, and even college organizes fests like Uurja and Ignite which have many competitions and events, including dance competitions, band wars and concerts as well. Cultural events are good in our college.

Fees is a bit expensive in our college when compared to other engineering colleges. It ranges to approximately 15 lacs for a four years engineering programme. Extra expenditures are less in our college though.

Our college gives scholarships based on the academic performances to students based on the merit list. College also provides loan facilities to students. There is also an option of getting funds if a student loses an earning parent in the middle of his/her graduation.

Labs are well equipped and well maintained. They have all the necessary safety measures installed in all the laboratories. Students interested in sports can join university's teams by giving trials. There is also a sports committee in college for the sports enthusiasts.

Seniors as well as alumni are very helpful here in UPES. They often guide juniors how to go about in the field they are interested in, they also help in academic difficulties. Seniors often take classes free of cost to teach important things everyone should be aware of while applying for jobs which aren't taught im college courses.

Admissions in this college are through a few methods including entrance exam, jee mains score and board percentage. I gave the entrance exam for the college and was invited for counseling, as I scored fairly well I got an option to choose any course of my choice. I was also eligible for scholarship.

The faculty is very helpful, and have good explanation skills. They are capable of guiding you well for your future but they do lack communication sometimes. Most of them are excellent in English while some do face trouble in teaching in English.
