Remarks

The campus is really amazing. It's a bit far from , but well connected to the town. This is what makes the place so peaceful. The environment is really pleasing , to the eyes and the mind. The place is secured from any outside effects , be it strikes , powercuts and such. There is no influence of political parties on the Students' Council. There are shops , eateries, juice corners , book stalls, grocery stores , saloons , within the campus. There is a Central Library that stays open till 1 at night. The place has so many students from so many departments that you'll see a new face everyday for your entire course duration and still not see everyone.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is at par and similar to the courses in the NITs. The course is reviewed and updated annually nowadays. The course ,the 2019 freshers are persuing is very different from ours. It includes newer domains of study. There are 4 exams In a semester.

Placement Experience

2.5

In-campus Placements to be honest aren't very great although the T&P cell is working really hard to bring in more companies this year than the previous years. And result are visible. Like most places , getting a job in core branches is harder than an IT job. Though our alumni have found themselves in reputable positions in various fields over the years.

College Events

5

The main tech-fest "Techxetra" is celebrated annually for 2days. There is a science test "Inscignis". There is a literary fest "Arnashwat". The are minor feats like the Spring Fest , Crescendo. There is also a month long Varsity fest, hosting all the sports and cultural competitions, which endswith a cultural night

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure , being a GFTI , is considerably low. The fees for the technical courses in TU is probably less than half of that in the NITs. This is possible because TU is a Central Government Funded Technical Institute.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have been availing the ISHAN UDAY scholarship given by UGC through out my technical course. Although very irregular , this scholarship has been really helpful for me. I am unaware of any scholarships offered by our University though.

Campus Life

3.5

The sports facilities are good. There is a huge football field , besides which is a cricket ground , and a kho-kho ground. There is an indoor badminton stadium. There is a well equipped gym. There are basketball , and volleyball and tennis courts. There are practice grounds for archery as well. A swimming pool has also been newly opened. There are equipped labs in every department , having equipments and lab assistants of the respective fields. There is a powerful telescope and a capable observatory in the campus

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are sufficient. The rooms are large enough for 2 people , and come equipped with attached wardrobes , shelves , tables and beds. A cousin of mine infact said that our hostels are better than his hostel in IIT Madras in terms of quality, cleanliness and space. The story of the mess food is that of very other hostel. You'll enjoy it for a semester at Max , and than get bored of it. There are canteens in every hostel. A good strength of staff is also present in the hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni association has been keeping a touch with the University. Many have established themselves in very reputable positions in various organizations in various fields. Some of them visit the campus and interact with the students. Some bring in senior ranked people of their organisation in order to improve relations of the organization and the university. Some provide guidance when needed and a re really helpful.

Admission

I qualified in JEE Mains and applied for TU through their online portal against 60% of the seats reserved for the Northeast Indian students. The rest of the 40% seats are filled through JoSAA of the Joint counselling through which one joins NITs.

Faculty

3.5

How the faculties are is very subjective. There are highly qualified professors and assistant professors in every department. Everyone is trying to stay updated to the latest methods and techniques.

Students are eligible to participate for Internship placements from 3rd year and FTE offer from 4th year starting. Overall the placements scenarios are pretty good considering it to be a NIT. The overall highest package goes to around 80 lac plus and the average package lies around 18 to 20 lac for CSE Department. The opportunities are great with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia coming for on campus opportunities providing agreat experience

From 5th sem students are allowed to participate in oncampus summar internship and from. 7th semester starting they are allowed for 6 month internship and Full time roles . There is a Training and placement Cell in our college there are some heads of this cell they are senior professors and it have final year students in senior coordinator position and 3 rd year study as probationary. Students bring the companies which fulfills the criteria of TNP cell and each company have their own eligibility criteria and selection procedure. Mostly companies allows 6 cgpa without any active backlog students . But some high paying companies requires 7 or more cgpa . In 3rd year Cisco , microsoft, public sapiens, Tech Mahindra, Accenture ,Oracle and many more companies visited in our campus and hired good amounts of students for summer internship and mostly offers full time role as ppo to students. In 4th year a lots of company like Novartis, amazon, flipkart, aditya birla, Cisco , Deloitte, oracle, ukg, Motorola, siemens , IBM and many more startups visited college and hired .Some paid 15+ CTC and some 6 to 10 CTC . Almost 40% of students are placed till December this year from each branch . Personally I'm planning for taking chances to get an online internship and then try to go for higher studies abroad in automation and robotics.

Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.
