Remarks

Overall college is good with greenary everywhere pollution free good faculty. But unfortunatly the infrastructute and system of the college is not so good. Most of the people are not skilled and takes and lot of time to complete some task.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is good. Although it depends on teacher on how much assingment they give us. Altogether course curriculum is good. There are two main exams in a year and two mid term exams. Also class tests appear in every month for different subjects.

Placement Experience

2.5

Job and placement oppurtunities are higher for good branches such as CST IT ETC EE but for other branches it is quite low and subsequently students has to go for masters to get a deccent job. So job placement is not so good.

College Events

4.5

Many events are celebrated through out the year. Kolkatas largest fest IISTROU is being celebrated every year including prizes worth lakhs. Students from different colleges are welcomed to participate in this fest. Also many clubs organise there won events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible like other centralised institute. The semester fee is 68000 only and hostel and mess fee is 29500 per semester. For sc st tusion fee is 0 and all for people with income <5 lakh has 2/3 waiver in tution fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

For students belonging to sc or st have full tusion fee waiver. And those with income less than five lakhs have to pay only one third tusion fee. Loan facility is offered by UCO bank which in available in the college campus only.

Campus Life

In ectracurricular we have all kinds of sports like cricket soccer basketball tabke tenis. Sports is quite good. Labs are not up to the marks and is also not properly cleaned. Instruments are mainly old ones.

Hostel Facilities

The college has 14 hostels in total. They are divide for different years like for first year we have hostel 8,9,10 so on. Hostel and mess fee is 29500 per semester ( six months). Also mess food is good and hostel rooms and good.

External Expense: More Than Rs.15000

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is very good in this college and i am amzed to see it. Seniors are also good and helpful. No ragging is allowed in campus. And hence seniors are like friends and help us by giving there numbers to ask them whenever we have problem

Admission

I got addmission on the basis of my JEE main rank under josaa online counselling system. My jee main rank was 34k and i got admission on civil branch. Josaa counselling has 7 rounds in total. Different rounds are held on diffrrent days. Once we get a seat we have to appoint to that particular college for futher options.

Faculty

Faculty of the college is good. Although language is the major problem for communication as most of the teacher are bengali and are in the college before it was cetralized hence the can not speak english fluently.

Likes

Supportive Faculty - The professors are highly qualified, approachable and always willing to help students
Free wifi support - There are free wifi support for both student and faculty
Fee Structure - It is very affordable and low compared to other colleges in the region

Dislikes

Placement support is below average, and most studnets have to apply for off campus jobs independently, which is really pathetic in the era of ai where getting a job as a fresher is so difficult
There is no dedicated support or placment cell initiative to help studnets land meaningful summer internships or any kind of internships

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. The remaining drives mostly service based companies like TCS, EY etc and quite a few startups has visited to main campus. The package they offered mostly in between 3.5lpa - 6 lpa. Furthermore the selection process of those startups is quite rigorous often consisting of upto 5 rounds of interview, two technical rounds with two technical interviews, and HR round My plans after getting the degree is either pursue an MBA or preparing for govt jobs

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Likes

The discipline is followed very strictly. Also you have access to library which is good, teachers are helpful and no ragging policy which is strictly followed and has a decent environment.
Thery conduct seminars which encourages students. Many faculty members are knowledgeable experienced in their respective subjects and helpful willing to solve doubts beyond the classroom also.
The college has decent infrastucture including classrooms, labs and library .

Dislikes

While the curriculum is decent ,it lacks sufficeint practical implementation.More hands on projects, real world application and industry exposure would improve learning significantly.
Campus life can sometimes fell limited in terms of active student interaction.Opportunites for clubs, networking and collaborative activities could be improved.
The college comes under St tHomas School so the campus is not great it is compact and has a canteen.

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Dislikes

Labs are not well maintained the machines are very slow

Course Curriculum Overview:

In case of my couse everything is coverd but it would have been much better of they focus on practicals more rather than theory. If they make us aware of all the new technologies that are used in the industry.

There are many fun events that happen in the college

Dislikes

The campus area is too small. The library is not good

I did not apply for any other college. I applied for colleges in josaa and the ones which were above IIEST, I considered few of them better and few due to NIRF ranking. The admission process if very simple. One will have to give jee after that they will have to apply for josaa counselling. If they have good enough rank, and they get any branch then they will be have to come to the college on the date specified by the college on their website. The cutoff for general category is usually high. All branches close at around 70k rank(in josaa counselling). In CSAB, they might extend to 1 lakh....Read More
