College Events

4.5

Institute organises many extracurricular activities to involve students in societal projects like training to children in theatre and allied arts through participation in intensive summer workshops and Saturday/Sunday Club. Through workshops and the Saturday/Sunday Club, club called Sanskaar Rang Toli aims at integrated personality development of children.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is nominal. The institute is government aided, thus the fee structure is almost negligible. Admission fee and the tuition fee is 150 each. There are some other additional charges which a student have to bear, like makeup kit charges, security deposit etc.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is very subtle, yet busy. The institute is dedicated towards providing an ideal atmosphere for learning. That’s the reason, that the hostel is compulsory for all the students. Because of so many like-minded people at one place, the campus has a vibe necessary for the overall development of an artist.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Sharing hostel with like-minded people was another thrill, I enjoyed being at NSD. Hostel charges are also nominal and basic. Room rent and electricity charges would cost you around Rs. 300, which is pretty much affordable.

Alumni/Alumna

NSD is the IIT of drama schools and one example to substantiate this statement would be their alumni network. NSD got some of the most reputable names from the Indian Film Industry in their alumni network.

Admission

The screening of applicants is carried out in two stages. The preliminary screening comprises of an audition or practical test, followed by a final round of selection in New Delhi, which is in the form of a four to five-day workshop. In this final selection emphasis will be on the candidate's attitude towards learning and participating in collective creation.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty consists of names which are prominent in the artistry world of theatre. They all are qualified and have relevant experience of working on live projects with many eminent personalities. They were all very supportive and critical at the same time. I guess that’s the way to bring out the best out of a struggling artist.

Honestly, placements at SRCC are really strong, and that’s one of the main reasons everyone wants to study here. Most students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th or 6th semester, and usually, the internships you do in the 5th semester also help you get a final offer later.
