- Its way more free than other colleges , students get to do a lot of stuff .
- Students are seen as adults and not kids, so we have a say
- There is no strict mentorship we can learn from anyone
Dislikes
- A lot of partiality , not very fair marking
- Quite judgemental, and because its aided college , they do what they please
- Does not follow the calender, public holidays are not considered like ganthi jayanthi etc
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is very subjective, one faculty's opinion would be completely opposite to anothers so we have to take opinions and think for ourselves , even tho there are many subjects only designing is considered important by the students and the rest are just for the sake of passing the university exam.
Fees and Financial Aid
?80000/- is the fees for merit students, merit according to kerala state that is keam, hostel fees extra, for management seats ?197000/- is the fees. There is no additional fees but a lot of money would be needed for equipents printing , stationary etc on a semeterely basis
Campus Life
There is a cultural festival, koothu every year around dec, jan its held by the student council thata pretty much the main thing, there is also a classical event called lasyam. Sports are getting better now , there is a lot of participation as a college there is no proper ground only a small court . There is a good library for architectural books not many other books. Basically majority of the things are by the students for the students college doesnt provide much, even the base amount they might provide is given because students plead for it
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are great everything is clean but the food is 3/5 maximum, you can get rooms outside if you want but having a vehicle for transportation is better if staying outside and college is about a 15 min walk from main road, staying at hostel for 1st 2, 3 years is recommend. Hostel is affordable for the stay and food provided it can be considered on the higher end.
Admission
At the time the teachers were good , now many of them have left, some of the new teachers are good but not all are . The atmosphere for designing is great here , it is very peaceful and because architecture is the only course we will get a lot of exposure, but we will have to learn by ourselves majority of the things
Faculty
Many faculties are very friendly but you get in their bad book you are done for , they will fail you just for the sake of it even if you attend all the classes etc. If you happen to be in the good books some faculties will guve you extra care , extra materials etc there are very few neutral facultues who will teach you everything even if they dont favour you.
Night Life
In the campus its great , students have acces around the campus till 9 pm at night, if we go out we have to get back by 8pm, that being said in the cuty of thammarashry there is nothung much to do after 8, sure u can have good food and watch a movie and get back but thats it. Extentions for studios for work might be guven to complete work , till 12am. In campus there is a lot of hang out spots.
