Course Curriculum Overview

3

the curriculam is well curated, with giving importance to real world design problems, hands on training and industrial knowledge. However there is a lacking the software training aspect as the latest softwares are not included - which could be an area of improvement.

Internships Opportunities

3

The college has a data base ofoffices where students can apply for internships. The college itself has a consultancy wing which takes in their own students to gain knowledge and exposure to real time projects.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees was arround 90 thousand per student, there was a caution deposit of arround 10,000 rupees which would be returned after the course and was collected at the time of admission. there are also scholarships available as per govt. schemes.

Campus Life

3

The campus life is genarally on a up and down curve. During my college days the campus life was very active and vibrant, annually the general festivals like onam, christmas, Holy, Ifthar etc. are all celeberated. The library is also well equiped with good collections of books. There are facilities for activities like carroms, badminton, etc. However a proper football court could be considered as an area in which the infrastructure of the campus could be improved along with regular maintanence works. There are also many clubs that are active in the campus like music (The island project), editorial, dance, think architecture club (ATAC), drama club etc.

Admission

The reason I applied to this college was mainly because of the accesibility compared to other colleges as it is in the heart of the city and its location which is in the centre of a lush green Island which makes it a perfect setting for learning architecture. Besides this other factors that influenced me were that :- 1. Practicing architectects where very much in close relationship with the college. 2. The students are encouraged to participate in IIA related Programes, designing projects with importance to social service etc. 3. The college has tie up with many international universities and also has internationally acclaimed recourse personals who often visi and conduct workshops further enhancing the learning curve

Faculty

4

The faculties are allwell equiped and very friendly. The only problem is that the the faculties keep changing, therefore loosing continuity. All the faculties are good with a few exceptions. The subject which has the most faliure rate is mostly structural design regardless of the faculty. The curriculam in general is updated and advanced however considering software training there is a gap, and the most latest softwares are not included.

Night Life

3

Night life is not very active on campus, the Hostel is also located off campus limitting the scope for it. It is also not safe at night as the entry and exit to and from campus can be very challenging at night due to lack of street lights on the road to the campus.

Placement Experience:

As I'm a first year student I don't know much about placements but I think it starts by 8th sem for b arch students. Placements for barch are low compare to btech. But as this is a prestigious institution the best firms come here and there is a unit called CGPU for helping students regarding placements here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum looks pleasing but just like any course it has its pros and cons. The curriculum is enough for preparing us for architecture life but its so closely packed that its hard for average students to catch up. There are two semesters a year and two internal and one external exam for each semester

Course Curriculum Overview:

Im a passionate student architect. From childhood, I had this dream of becoming a creator. So I chose this course. There is a good ratio of faculty student ratio in the private colleges all over india. I'm not sure about the teaching method because this is more like a self learning course. But faculties are also helpful most of the time. Jury subjects are tougher than written examinations.

Admission:

Admission here is given on the basis of rank secured in NATA. With my rank I cleared the cutoff in general category in third round. I want my college to be near my home. So I can travel daily from my home. With my rank this was the best option I was getting and hence I opted for this.
