Asian School of Architecture and Design Innovation is a design school that started in the year 2013. It is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Kottayam and is approved by the Council of Architecture (COA). Unique in its own, the college follows the “Gurukul” System i.e every student gets a dedicated individual mentor. It helps the students in gaining knowledge throughout the duration of their course. ASADI is situated in the heart of Kochi city, in the Silver sand island at Vyttila, near Thykoodam metro station, Ernakulam, Kerala, India.

ASADI offers a 5 year long B.Arch program, 2-year M.Arch in Advanced Architecture, and also a 1-year Diploma in Interior Design. Admission to the B.Arch course and M.Arch is entrance-based. The accepted entrance examinations for B.Arch program is KEAM and NATA, while PGETA is accepted for M.Arch admissions.

ASADI is an institution focused on social and environmental improvement, established by ABR Foundation, a Charitable Trust. The school is led by Senior Architect Prof. B. R. Ajit, who heads Ajit Associates, a prominent architectural and design consulting firm in South India, recognized for their excellence in the field for over 47 years. ASADI has also signed an MoU with the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, that will enable student-faculty exchanges, and enhance cooperation in architectural research and working studios between the two institutions.

ASADI Kochi Admissions

Candidates seeking admission in B.Arch merit seat, must register in KEAM and proceed with the instructions of Commissioner of Entrance examinations for marks and ranks uploading.
For management seats, students shall apply online through the application link provided by the college. ASADI will then publish a rank list based on academic eligibility and admission interview with the candidate and seats will be offered on the basis of the ranklist.
In addition to the academic eligibility, only those candidates who score the minimum eligibility marks as per the Information Brochure of National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) will be considered for admission to the B.Arch course.
50% of admissions to B.Arch course are Government Merit Seats that are done based on KEAM, while the rest 50% seats are based on the rank list released by the institute based on NATA scores, academic eligibility, and interview.
Candidates seeking admission in M.Arch in Advanced Architecture, shall apply online through the application link provided by the college. ASADI will then publish a rank list based on the eligibility and admission interview conducted with the candidate and seats will be offered on the basis of the ranklist.
M.Arch admissions will be based on PGETA scores, academic eligibility, and interview.
Candidates interested in Diploma in Interior Design, shall apply online through the application link provided by the college. The college will then publish a rank list based on the eligibility and admission interview conducted with the candidate and seats will be offered on the basis of the ranklist.

ASADI Kochi Scholarships

Asian School of Architecture and Design Innovations provides scholarships to the students via Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Any candidate of any caste background is granted a 20 percent fee waiver if he/she has passed 10+2.

ASADI Kochi Facilities and Hostel

ASADI is the only standalone architecture college in the city. Campus life at ASADI is vibrant and engaging, with a diverse student and faculty community from various parts of India and around the world. The campus has state-of-the-art facilities, including well-equipped design studios, lecture rooms, a library, a workshop, a materials lab, computer lab, 3D printing lab, open stage and play ground. Additionally, the college provides students with various facilities such as:

The college has a library which has a rich collection of books to be used by the students throughout the duration of their course.

Admission:

The reason I applied to this college was mainly because of the accesibility compared to other colleges as it is in the heart of the city and its location which is in the centre of a lush green Island which makes it a perfect setting for learning architecture. Besides this other factors that influenced me were that :- 1. Practicing architectects where very much in close relationship with the college. 2. The students are encouraged to participate in IIA related Programes, designing projects with importance to social service etc. 3. The college has tie up with many international universities and also has internationally acclaimed recourse personals who often visi and conduct workshops further enhancing the learning curve

ASADI - The Architectural Gateway of Freedom to Design

Likes

It's very accessible from the main city and having a nearby metro station allows everyone reach on time.
The college is situated in a serene campus, within an island with abundance of greenery and away from all the noise pollution.
The college is a prime example of adaptive reuse, as the building itself was once previously a hotel. So teaching through exemplary notions allow for better understanding the future of architectural conservation.

Dislikes

Due to only architecture being the only course offered across the UG and PG sections, the limited number of students doesn't allow much fun in and around the campus as far as programmes are conducted.
Convocations don't often happen in every year, instead they happen every 2-3 years.
The college needs to implement stricter attendance methods through the use of biometrics and other technological interventions.

Admission:

Honestly saying, I didn't apply to any other college for my M.Arch program. Due to the various reasons I listed earlier. But for my B.Arch admission, I applied to other colleges like CAT, Marian college, but due to the marks not upto the mark from the 12th board exams, I was given a shut eye, whereas ASADI admitted me not only on the basis of marks, but on the 3 step interviews from bottom-to-top management level, which i aced substantially well. Hence, I will forever be grateful to college regarding that.5

Riverfront of the college gives good ambience and also the location is peaceful in a city
Access to city gives more oppertunities of the city

Management is not so supportive with students
Infrastructure of the college is minimum

Admission:

I applied here majorly because of the location of the college. We are learning more things from the city itself. Due the presence of IIA and other architecture related communities it easy to get participation in the programes which is organised by these organisations.

Admission:

I opted Barch is because it was my aim to be an architect. The most fascinating factory about this career is that we could walk through or into life all our imagination and creativity. My passion towards creating a space and and experimenting creative things which brings a new and good change in the society would fullfiled. I got a merit seat in ASADI ( Asian School of Architecture Design and Innovation). Just like many architecture colleges in Ernakulam my college is also on the way of establishment, yet we have many achievements in very short span it includes the rank holders from our first pass out batch. Architecture is not just about the studies it all comes with experience and never ending learning. At our college we have faculties who have hands-on experience in the field and from our professors we could learn more on the practicals as well. Unlike any other colleges our college have a very peacefull campus inside the private island called silversand island right at the heart of the city vytila, yet covered with Waterscapes and vegetation.
