How do the placements really compare between LPU B.Tech Electrical Engineering and Amity University Noida B.Tech Biotechnology?

I graduated from Amity University Kolkata with a B.Tech in Biotechnology (2017–2021). After graduation, I secured a rank of 27 in GATE-BT and am currently pursuing my Master’s degree at IIT Kharagpur. Generally, I would recommend Amity for a B.Tech only if you are considering a PhD in the future. The placements are typically poor, and the same applies to biotechnology in IIT. So, unless you plan to pursue a PhD, studying biotechnology may not be worth it, as job opportunities are limited and often low-paying.

LPU B.Tech in Electrical Engineering seems to have a slight edge over Amity University Noida's B.Tech in Biotechnology when it comes to placements and internships. LPU boasts a placement rate of 95%, with students landing roles at major companies like Amazon and Cognizant, while Amity reported around 86% placements with an average package of 12 lakh per annum. Additionally, LPU offers ample internship opportunities beginning in the third year, which can be crucial for gaining real-world experience. Amity does provide a good education and campus life, but if the focus is on immediate job prospects and industry connections, LPU appears to be the better choice for those pursuing electrical engineering. On the other hand, if someone is more inclined towards biotechnology and values the program's unique offerings, Amity could still be a solid option.

Both LPU for B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and Amity University Noida for B.Tech in Biotechnology offer solid placements, but they differ significantly in terms of fees and ROI. LPU has a slightly higher average placement package of around 12 lakh per annum with an overall placement rate of 86%, while Amity boasts a 95% placement rate. However, LPU's fees are considered reasonable for the quality of education provided, along with numerous scholarships available, making it a better financial choice for many students.

In contrast, Amity's fees are higher, and while they do offer scholarships, the overall financial burden might be heavier. So, if you're looking for better value for money with a solid return on investment, LPU might be the smarter option, but if you prefer a slightly higher placement rate and have the financial means, Amity could be a good fit.

LPU is one of the top private universities recognized by UGC since 2006. It has built a strong reputation among students due to its quality education, certifications, and placements. Last year, the highest package for CSE reached approximately 54 lakhs for an LPU student.

As an alumnus of LPU, I can confidently say that it stands out as one of the best universities. They offer a robust curriculum and a competitive edge through various specializations and honors programs, along with national and international industrial tie-ups (like Google, Microsoft, CompTIA, Xebia, etc.). Studying at LPU undoubtedly provides a wild card entry into the industry!

You will encounter numerous opportunities such as:

• Hackathons
• PEP Classes (which can also aid in securing internships in the final year)

These experiences help you enhance your skills and achieve various certifications, which are beneficial for securing better placements.

Additionally, LPU offers scholarships to bright students based on their academics, sports, and other extracurricular activities. CSE students have access to many specializations while studying to deepen their knowledge according to their interests, such as Artificial Intelligence.

From my research, LPU for B.Tech Electrical Engineering stands out with a solid 95% placement rate and a focus on engaging campus life, while Amity University Noida for B.Tech Biotechnology offers a decent 86% placement with a more specialized curriculum. LPU’s faculty seems more hands-on and supportive, which is great for project work, and they have a variety of extracurriculars that make campus life vibrant. In contrast, Amity has a strong reputation but might not match LPU's overall student experience.

Personally, I would choose LPU for its high placement rates and dynamic campus environment, especially if you value a supportive faculty and active student life; however, if you're more inclined towards biotechnology and its specific advancements, Amity could be a better fit.
