Which key factors should students consider while choosing a course or career to pursue?

In my opinion, the very first factor that students should consider while choosing a career for themselves is their interest and passion towards it. After that, they should thoroughly analyze their potential, strengths and weaknesses. Also, don't forget the parental expectations and peer pressure that comes when you go for higher studies, so consider their choices as well, but do what is right for you. In addition to this, students should analyze their past academic performances and also the placement opportunities associated with the course you are going to apply. Last but not the least, course fee also acts as an important factor which students consider based on their economic backgrounds.

Which best practices are followed by your department while imparting knowledge to students?

The best part of our department courses is that along with finest quality and employment oriented education, we impart the best moral values in students, in order to make them technically proficient and ethically and emotionally strong. Apart from this, proper discipline is maintained all over campus and we have ensured students have a respectful, trustworthy and open channel to communicate and share their experiences.

How do you build a strong connection between your institute courses and industry demands?

For the purpose of bridging the gaps between academia and industry and maintaining a strong connection between our courses and their demands, we regularly connect with experts and have also signed MOUs with leading industries for skills enhancement of our students. Another objective here is to make sure students get to learn new technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and work on projects related to PCP Design, VLSI Design and Python programming through some cool internships. Last but not the least, students even have the leverage to take advantage of programs introduced by the government.

What challenges have you faced while inculcating new programs in your college's curriculum?

There are a couple of challenges which we normally face while upgrading the educational quality of our courses. First and foremost hurdle is that we have very less time in hand after taking lectures, to work on things like our skills upgrade, and to go through a lot of reference books as the aim is to provide good quality education to students. Also, trends, technologies and corporate demands are rapidly changing, so keeping pace with each and developing a robust curriculum that can withstand an unpredictable future is also a challenge for us. Apart from this, resources scarcity and the regular need to improve teaching and assessment methodologies, also become a bottleneck when it comes to include new programs in curricula or upgrade the existing one.

What career options would be available to students after pursuing ECE courses from your institution?

As far as the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering is concerned, it is evolving day by day and demands for electronic devices are increasing manifold in the outside world and it will keep increasing in the coming time also. To be more specific, everyone has the requirement of a Smartphone, Laptop and just like that hospitals need medical equipment to treat patients.

And since Electronics Engineers work to design, develop or optimize these systems and devices to be more efficient and reliable, so they were, are and will be in demand no matter what the serious are. Therefore, students after successfully finishing our ECE courses can work as Service Engineer, Network Planning Engineer, Communication Engineer, Telecom Engineer, R&D Software Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, Software Analyst, Analog applications Engineer, Technical Director and Electronic Design Engineer with both public and private sector companies such as Havells India Ltd, Bajaj Electronics, Philips Electronics India, Bosch in India, Dell, Intel, TCS, Schneider Electric and Reliance or Indian Telephone Industries, Civil Aviation Department, National Physical Laboratory, Post and Telegraph Department, Bharat Electronics Limited, MTNL, National Physical Laboratories, CRPF and ISRO.

As a Department Head, what are your key roles and responsibilities towards the institute?

Being the Department Head, my key responsibility is to provide good, strong and transparent academic leadership. Apart from this, maintaining staff and students, guiding them as and when needed, providing them required resources and opportunities also comes under the scope of my work so as to ensure our department functions smoothly and produce technically proficient and responsible Engineers.
