  • The university has mainly two campuses. One is located at the city centre (Stadtmitte), where most of the non-technical courses are conducted. And the second one, which is comparatively the bigger one, is located in Vaihingen, where all the Technical/STEM related courses are conducted.
  • A huge library is available on campus along with Hochschulsport which provides opportunity to play a number of different sports(https://www.hochschulsport.uni-stuttgart.de/)
  • There are a number of festivals conducted on the campus. The most popular one is the freshers' party conducted at the beginning of the semester. Apart from this, most of the institutes have their own fest/event conducted over the year along with the huge parties organised by the hostels during winter (Winter parties), etc.

  • There are 2 campuses that my University has:
  • The bigger campus is Vaihingen and that's where my Classes takes place.
  • The campus has a Library and for sports, there is a Hochschule nearby (5 minutes' walk from the dormitories) where you can apply for various sports and even gym at a reasonable rate.
  • You have cafes and a big canteen in the Uni as well.
  • Each of the dormitories organises big parties every week in the week of June. There are semester opening parties and Indian nights as well. If you are into big parties, you would not be disappointed.

Fees

  • Tuition + Administration fees – 1650 Euros per Semester
  • The Uni collects the fees per semester
  • Monthly Expense
  • Deutschland ticket – 39 euros (for students)
  • Health insurance – 140 Euros
  • Rent – 350 Euros
  • Groceries and Misc - 200 Euros
  • You get around 950 euros from your blocked account. If you use your money wisely, you will be able to save around 200 euros per Month. If you are able to get a working student, then you will be able to save more than 1000 euros easily.

  • I am not a social guy and hence was not included in any of the events as such.
  • But there were many events organised, such as robotics, hyperloop, potluck and many more. There is a sports arena as well as a sports club and gym. There is also an online and offline library.
  • Since my studies were during covid times, there were not any celebrations as such.
  • There are many student organisations for each department, like the Signal Processing team, the Embedded team and others, which are involved with carrying out projects for competitions.

Fees

  • The Full Fees during my studies was 1700 Euro per semester
  • It included semester fees (~1500) and other charges.
  • This payment also included student travel ticket (using which you could travel free after 6pm)
  • The cost of the Hostel(Dorm) was 330 Euro per month (it started with 280 euro but was later increased)
  • The Monthly Expense was around 150 - 190 Euro (groceries, hotel and other basic stuff)
  • Health Insurance: 130 Euro (it is mandatory)

  • Formula Student Club: Stuttgart has one of the best teams in Formula Student; sports/Formula 1 fans can join the team and contribute, either technically or from the management side.
  • Sports: We also have a big university sports club, which arranges and manages summer sports and activities.
  • Fests: University and Student associations arrange frequent hikes and visits to the Stuttgart Frühling and Volkfest.

  • The major campus fests are Oktoberfest and generally in summers people do party here every Saturday. Extracurricular activities includes, guest lectures from CERN/IBM/MICROSOFT, Career Fairs, Indian Night Parties(similar for every community).

Fees

  • The tuition fees are 1600 euros per semester. We don't have a hostel we have student dorms in which we are required to cook ourselves and we have separate rooms, the rent for that is 347 euro.
  • Speaking in terms of monthly expense it is around 600-700 euros (max) but it could increase if you have your college in cities like Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt etc.
