As with other international universities, there are no campus placements. But there are a lot of job fairs where companies visit and you can get to know what all companies are hiring. There are also opportunities for student jobs here. The average salary would be around 55K euros.

The major factor was the location of the university and the opportunities to work during and after studies. The university has a decent amount of courses to select from and offers a variety of them. The best part is that there are a lot of student positions within the university to help fund yourself. So, the experience has been good, and they offer various other networking events.

Dislikes:

  • The cost of living, including accommodation and daily expenses is relatively high here in Stuttgart. null
  • Sometimes language is a barrier at the University, as some courses are only in German. null

Placement

There is no such placement process in Europe but the University arranges job fairs where companies visit the campus and students can interact with them. There are frequent visits from top companies like Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Bosch, Siemens, etc. These companies offer a range of profiles, particularly in engineering, research, and development roles. The salary varies depending on the role and your skills, but the average salary is between 55k - 60k euros yearly.

The university is highly regarded in Computer Science and comes under the prestigious TU9 cluster i.e. one the of nine leading technical universities in Germany. They have different specializations and flexible course curriculum with a wide range of options to choose from.

Dislikes:

  • Stuttgart is a bit costly. So for more money, the room that you get will be smaller than the rest of the cities. null
  • Dorm rooms at the university are small. It's clean but really small so I find it a bit inconvenient. But there are better dorms but it's a bit costly. null
  • Subjects are difficult. Becomes a bit stressful to manage studies and working student jobs. It's not something I don't like but yes it's stressful to study. But I believe it would be the same for any TU because it's focused on research. null

University doesn't offer placements but recruiters give preference if passed out from the university. And there are a lot of research opportunities.

I chose this University because companies give preference if passed out from this university as it is quite reputed and also Stuttgart is known for its industries hence getting a work is easier.

Dislikes:

  • Dealing with the admin can feel like navigating a labyrinth. From registering for classes to sorting out financial aid, be prepared to jump through hoops. The campus lacks that vibrant, buzzing atmosphere you might expect from a university. It's not exactly the place where you'll find spontaneous gatherings or exciting events around every corner. null

You need to apply to multiple places and be ready to face a lot of rejections. Only after that you get like a few interviews and then turn that into a career.

Internship

Yes. I did a few co-op in Nokia and then at Fraunhofer.

Dislikes:

  • Labs are inadequate and less intake even though the intake for masters in very high. Doesn't allow for external thesis or research projects. This is very stupid in-fact, doesn't provide a topic in University and doesn't allow external ones. null

2 companies visited, Designer: profile offered, ALL: number of students placed, self: how is the placement process, 60K euro: median salary

Interned in Bosch, Antenna designer and 1400 Euro, interview and then place offered.

Dislikes:

  • Infrastructure for the course, the class itself is okay but the lab exercises are not explained enough and most of us were clueless on what to do. The opportunity to work by yourself after classes in the lab was also limited. null

There is no placement, we need to search for jobs ourselves. Having work experience more than 3 years with German level B2 is highly beneficial and recommended. Salary depends on the city you get the job in. Around 48000-56000 brutto would be good starting salary.

Internship

I interned in Robert Bosch during my study after my master thesis. I did voluntary internship which is quite had to get. After application and screening you will have 1 or 2 rounds of interview depending on the number of applicants. Cover letter and resume are required for the application. Around 800-900 euros will be provided as stipend.

Dislikes:

  • "The only few downsides are that the courses may be a little too theoretical, and might not suit people looking for practical experience. Difficult to complete the course on time (although it's the case for any TU, especially a TU9) Getting on campus accommodation may also be very difficult. Apart from this it's a good place to study " .

It's pretty common to get into MNCs like Bosch, Mercedes, Daimler, Porsche. Continental after completion of studies.

I'll be doing a werkstudent.

Dislikes:

  • There is nothing major to dislike about. Only thing is that Masters in Technical Universities can take more than 2 years. It’s almost impossible to finish the course in two years. Also information technology course can get complex sometimes. The number of courses in the specialisation are overwhelming, sometimes it becomes hard to choose courses as all are great courses and it’s not possible to do everything. So one really need to be careful while choosing courses as it makes a difference when one is looking for jobs. null

Placement

Campus placements doesn’t happen like in India. There are job fairs though, where the students get information about companies that are available and their projects. Students can develop their network through these job fairs and later apply for jobs in these companies through their network.

Internship

I didn’t get an internship for two reasons - I have 3 years of work ex and internship was not part of my curriculum. If students still want to get an internship, it falls under voluntary internships and many companies don’t prefer such internships because then the companies have to pay the students full time employee salary.

Dislikes:

  • - The state of Baden Wüttemberg has a semester fee of 1700 Euros - The University has strict policies with respect to its course and might be at times difficult for students to deal with it - You might miss the final convocation ceremony the way you must have imagined .

Here you need to attend job fairs and find a job that suits best for you. The best way to find or apply for a job is via LinkedIn, Stepstone.de or direct application via the company website. With regards to Research opportunities the best way is to find a list of Professors who are currently doing research in the field you are interested in and then directly emailing them asking for any open research topics or suggesting them your topic, if you have any. In both the cases, be it job or research the average salary is 60k Euros annually.

The University is more than what I expected. Be it with respect to course, accommodation, city etc, everything was just super. Also coming a new country with its own culture and language helps the student to come out of his/her comfort zone and also develops the soft skills.

Companies don't visit the campus here in Germany. It's the responsibility of student to apply for jobs by themselves.

Internship

1. AVL, Graz - Intern (1100 euros NET). I contacted people in the management of this Company. 2. ZVRBB, Böblingen - Intern (900 euros NET). Mail to the Plant head.
