- The campus life is quite active, with several student clubs, technical groups, and cultural organisations. Events range from technical workshops and guest lectures to cultural fests and sports competitions.
- The University of Stuttgart has multiple campuses, including:
- Vaihingen Campus – Most Science and Engineering departments
- City Campus (Stuttgart-Mitte) – Humanities and other
- Facilities include well-equipped libraries, computer labs, sports complexes, cafeterias, and on-campus medical services. There are also lounges and study spaces for group work.
- Popular events include Stuttgart Science Night, Indian Night, student cultural festivals, and hackathons. Clubs range from robotics and coding clubs to music, dance, and photography groups. There are also department-specific fests like emotions, etc. There are dorm-specific fests like allmandring open air, strausi 3 summer parties, campus beach, etc. The list goes on and on. There are festivals and Parties going on all round the year. Germans like to party.
- Students can participate in football, basketball, and volleyball, as well as cultural events like talent shows, theatre, and music concerts. Student organisations organise seminars, workshops, networking events, and community volunteering, making campus life diverse and engaging. There are separate music rooms in the Vaihingen campus with a drum kit, bass, guitar and everything you can think of. It also has a 20 channel mixer.

- I opted for on-campus accommodation at Allmandring 3.
- I applied through the official student housing websites of SW and VSSW.
- First I used to live in Allmandring I (283 EUR). Then I moved to Allmandring 3. I pay €374 per month now. It increases by €10 each semester. My single room is furnished with a bed, table, cupboard, and chair. The kitchen is also furnished, with two storage rooms, while the bathroom and toilet are shared.
- Securing the accommodation took about 3 months, so it was time-consuming.
- Apply as early as possible through the SW and VSSW websites to avoid delays.
- Allmandring 3 is about 7 minutes’ walk from the campus. Most Indian students stay in Allmandring 3, Allmandring 1, and Pfaffenhof 1.

- They respected the time and scheduled review sessions one-on-one, which was a better experience than the sessions I had in Italy and India.

- The campus life was vibrant and well-supported, even as an exchange student.

- Accommodation was secured through the university system and was one of the most convenient aspects of the exchange. I was happily accommodated in one of the student dorms administered by the local student services office.

- I like the academic freedom the institution gives which means you have autonomy in conducting research.
Dislikes
- From my personal experience, there are many things that I dislike. There is no integration with the community here, lack of transparency, high bureaucratic process, people are super closed and also a bit conserved mindset.

- There are few but unfortunately i joined during Covid and later I was completely into research so I couldn't participate in other activities. But there are facilities were students can participate, like gym, and many other courses like horse riding, swimming, massage, skydiving, tennis, etc.

- Sometimes few subjects of interest overlap and one needs to then choose any one for that semester.
- Exams for a subject may not be available at both semesters.
- International students have to pay a state fee of 1500€ extra per semester.

- Studierendenwerk Stuttgart is an official organisation that offers on-campus accommodations depending on availability.
- Another popular option is WG Gesucht.
- Accommodation I received was a 4-sharing apartment with a private room on campus.
- Monthly rent: 350-400 (increasing every year)
- Includes all utilities like heat, electricity and water.
- Since I applied quite early, I got accommodation easily through them.
- Recommendations: As soon as you have the university admit you, you should apply for accommodation at their website. This will be the cheapest and nearest to the university.

- The location of campus far from the distractions of the city makes it cosy and peaceful. There student accomodations are excellent and within an easy reach of each lecture halls. The technical facilities of every depertment- especially the engineering and physics, are at the top. Stuttgart is a stunning city.
Dislikes
- The inter department events are lacking. Some courses are too focused to specific subjects that could limit the inter disciplinary aspects for some students.

- There are nearly no extracurricular activities provided by the university, because the university has more than 25 thousand students. So, activities are all limited to the faculties. However, the international center occasionally offers a few outdoor events. Sure, the individual departments also have a few semester parties. In general, the campus is lively in Summer.

- Accommodation in the student hostels starts from 350 Eur per month. The rooms in general are single rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom. While there are also studio rooms. There are a few companies offering student rooms on the campus. You can also find shared apartments in the city, where you share one full apartment with 3 or 4 students.

- For accommodation, if you want to live in the student dorms, you can apply via vssw site but apply as soon as possible, as it takes a lot of time to get a dorm in the university itself. You can also go for sublets if you don't get any contract from vssw.
- The monthly rent for accommodation is 375 euros ± 25 euros, depending on which dorm you take. The challenge is it takes a lot of time to get a dorm. The student dorms are just a 10-minute walk from the campus.

- The University of Stuttgart has strong presence of International students making it culturally diverse and offers a chance to connect with students from other countries.
- The quality of education is very high and the teaching content is closely related to the skills required in the industry. Especially in Electrical Engineering there are many different majors to choose from targeting many sub-domains in Electrical field ranging from Power Electronics, Smart systems and Semiconductors etc.
- Many student activities and cultural events take place in the University which provides an opportunity to connect with others and network.
Dislikes
- Being in Stuttgart which is a developed city, the cost of rent and living is expensive compared to other German cities. This extends to facilities inside the University.
- Although you can find student jobs(HiWi) in the campus, they are not available for all the domains. It may take a long time to find a student job in most cases and the responses from Professors are delayed.
- The student dormitories are great but you have to share it with multiple people (ranging from 4 to 11 people) based on the rent price. Most of the dorms have a single shower and restrooms with 11 people sharing them.

- The university has two campuses. One in Vaihingen and the other in City Center location. Most of the STEM programmes are located on the Vaihingen campus.
- The campus has a good library with sufficient places to sit and study. It also has sports facilities such as a track field and football, basketball, and volleyball courts. There is also a supermarket on the campus for groceries and a gym for workouts.
- The major festivals on the campus are Halloween, Christmas, Welcome party for freshers, and the Emotions party. Popular clubs include ESN Stuttgart which organises different events for students, such as Hiking, Trivia nights and food festivals. Oktoberfest and spring festivals are two major events that happen in Stuttgart, which takes place in the city centre. It offers many rides and exhibitions which display German culture. Many students visit these festivals and have a good time.
- There is a long list of sports courses which students can register for, such as Table Tennis, badminton, Basketball etc. IZ (international office) has a student organisation and helps students in settling down. It supports students in knowing the campus better and also around Stuttgart. Stuvus is another student organisation that organises different events and parties. There are many technical clubs, such as Rennteam, which develops an F1-based car to participate in Racing competitions and they hire students for part-time work. There are many similar clubs and teams.

- I have used the VSSW portal to apply for the accommodation. Students can also use the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart website for finding accommodation.
- The monthly rent for my accommodation is 350 Euros and a separate fee of 9 euros for wifi. the facilities include a private room with a shared kitchen and washrooms.
- The waiting list for accommodation is long and it takes a long time to get a dorm allocated. It's better to apply as early as possible.
- I would suggest students apply on both the VSSW and Studierendenwerk Stuttgart websites for accommodation. Apply for all the dorms initially; once you get allocated a dorm and if they don't find it to their liking, they can change the dorm after coming here. Also look for sublets from other students in case you don't find accommodation.
- My dormitory is inside the Campus and I just need to walk 5 minutes to get to the classrooms. Most Indian students stay in the dorms inside the campus, mainly in Allmandring.

- The university has a International Zentrum that helps students from abroad to settle in quickly and helps in all official things
- The university also offers free language courses every semester to improve their German
Dislikes
- There is literally no semester break unless you choose the exams correctly and semesters are usually continuous
- There is not mandatory internship in my course that sometimes add a strain
- Sometimes the exam schedule gets messed up two subjects at the same time that needs to be changed afterwards

- Two campuses – one in the city centre, which may be a smaller one and the vaihingen one, where most of the courses are offered.
- It has all facilities from the library, both indoor and outdoor.
- It also has a lot of clubs and popular events like Campus Beach and Allmand open Air.
- As my time was during COVID, most of them were cancelled, and these were the only two i was aware of. We also had a big function called Indian Night which is open for all with limited seats

- The university helped in finding the accommodation via a website called studierendenwerk
- The monthly rent can be from 280 Euro to 350 Euro based on the type and location of the accommodation
- It was quite an easy process for me and it is highly efficient
- Always apply early as soon as you get your admission and don't wait too long
- Most of the indian students stay at the same place as mine and it is only a 10 min walk from the campus, as it is part of the campus
