CLAT 2025 Counselling : The consortium of National Law universities has announced the CLAT examination date. The CLAT 2025 exam is scheduled for 1st December 2024. The exam authority will release CLAT 2025 results within 10 to 11 days and right after the result, the CLAT 2025 Counselling will take place online. NLU will conduct CLAT 2025 counselling on its official website https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/
- Around 4200 seats are available for CLAT 2025. Among 4200 seats, 3000 seats are for LLB and 1200 seats for LLM.
- Students must note that 5x more students will be called in CLAT 2025 counselling.
- The selected candidates will get an invitation for CLAT counselling 2025 through email and SMS.
- A total of the fifth round counselling process will be conducted through the CLAT 2025 counselling process.
The consortium of NLU will administer the exam in pen and paper mode from 2 pm to 4 pm. The exam authority did not make any official announcement about the CLAT 2025 application process yet. However, The notification of CLAT 2025 application is likely to be released in July.

CLAT 2025 Counselling : Know Step by Step Procedure
CLAT 2025 Counselling is a complex and comprehensive process. It involves a series of steps to execute the effective counselling process. All the steps mentioned below will help to understand this complex better.
Step 1: CLAT 2025 Result Announcement.
Step 2: Candidates are required to pay the Clat 2025 Counselling fees. Students who want to engage in this counselling process must pay the counselling fee. For General Category, The counselling fee is 30000 INR and for SC/ST candidates, it is INR 20000.
Step 3: Registration for CLAT Counseling 2025 starts. In this stage, candidates need to provide all the basic information like academic performance, other details, etc.
Step 4: Based on CLAT 2025 merit list and NLU’s preference candidates need to choose a seat. However, this stage involves several rounds.
Step 5: After choosing and getting the seat, candidates must verify documents with their preferred colleges.
Step 6: In this final stage, candidates join the courses with admission fees after the document verification.
Documents Required for CLAT Counselling 2025
Through CLAT 2025 entrance examination both UG and PG students will get a chance to appear in CLAT 2025 counselling process. Hence the document requirements for both UG and PG are a bit different. Listed below are the all important documents for both programmes.
For UG Students:
- Class 10 Marksheet (as a Date of Birth proof document)
- Class 12 Marksheet (qualifying examination proof)
- CLAT 2025 Admit Card
- Character Certificate
- Transfer/Migration Certificate

CLAT 2025 Counselling Registration Process
From filling in NLU preferences to paying your counselling fees, there are five stages involved. Take a look at all the stages to understand the CLAT 2025 counselling registration process.
1st Step-
- Visit the official website of CLAT
- Log into your CLAT account with your registered mobile no and password.
- After logging into your account, you need to go to the ‘counselling registration and fee payment’ tab.

2nd Step-
- Participation in the CLAT 2025 process requires you to select preferences for National Law Universities (NLUs).
- At the time of filling CLAT 2025 application form, you need to select a minimum of five NLU preferences. During filling in the preferences you need to consider a few things: Location, NLU rank, seat number, etc. (You will be allowed to compete only in your preferred NLUs).
- You can change your preferences later in the given deadline. For that log back into your account and update your preference.
3d Step-
- In this stage, you have to pay the counselling fees online via NFT/UPI/Debit or Credit. General Category students have to pay INR 30,000 and reserved candidates have to pay INR 20,000.
N.B: Your counselling fee will be adjusted with admission fees. In that case the printout of fee receipt will be beneficial for the process.
4th Step-
- Right after paying the counselling fees, you will get a chance to navigate CLAT Counselling 2025 form on the counselling portal
- Fill out all the details carefully before submitting the counselling fees.
5th Step-
- This is the final stage where you have to download the counselling for further reference
CLAT 2025 SEAT Allotment Process:
The Consortium will release five provisional counselling lists:
Applicants who completed the counselling registration process will be called for the CLAT Counselling 2025 first round based on the consortium's preferences. However, if you are selected for the first counselling round you will get three options as follows: 1) Lock your seat or Accept your allocated seat (Freeze) 2) Upgrade/ Apply (Float) 3) Exit. The second, third, fourth, and fifth CLAT Counselling 2025 will follow the same procedure.
N.B: Candidates who will not lock any seat will get an option for an upgrade. For candidates who will choose to float, it is advisable to choose the seats from above while filling in the seat preference. Cause If you select 14 no. seats as your preference then you will be offered seats above 14 based on its availability. In case the above seats are not available you can face problems during counselling.

Freeze
NLU declared that candidates who applied for the freeze option in the first, second, and third rounds of counselling need to complete the payment by 14th May. Freeze means you are locking the seat as you are pleased with your allocated sets. Once you freeze your seat you will not be able to participate in the next round counselling process.
Float
Floating seats mean you are holding onto the present seats but still open to better options.
Exit
Exit refers to the total withdrawal of participation from the CLAT Counselling process. Once you exit you can not participate in any of the counselling rounds.

CLAT cut-off is released seprately for the participating institutes. You must check the opening and closing ranks of the institute you are interested in. If you have met the cut-off, you can register and participate in the counseling.
