CLAT Counselling 2026 date will be available at consortiumofnlus.ac.in after the CLAT results. The seat allotment for CLAT 2026 counselling will be carried out by the Consortium of NLUs over five rounds, CLAT 2026 seat allotment process happens online after the CLAT exam ends. Merit ranks and preferences determine candidate eligibility for the process.
- Throughout CLAT 2026 seat allotment rounds, you can accept, upgrade, or reject allotted seats. However, upgrades won't be available during the final round.
- Candidates who get CLAT allocated seats are advised to submit their required documents and accept their seats before the last date.
- Failure to do so will result in the candidate’s seat being forfeited.
- In CLAT 2025, approximately 75,000 candidates registered, with around 70,000 appearing to contend for admission for 4,054 LLM and 1,591 LLB seats across NLUs
- Eligibility for CLAT counselling was extended to roughly 26,000–26,150 candidates, nearly five times the number of total seats
After CLAT counseling registration 2026, candidates enter their NLU preferences and pay the applicable counselling fee of INR 30,000 for general category and INR 20,000 for reserved categories.

To be considered for CLAT 2026 Seat Allotments, candidates must register for CLAT 2026 Counselling session.
- Shortlisted candidates who have been invited to apply for CLAT 2026 Counselling must register themselves through the online application portal that will be made available after CLAT 2026 Results are published.
- Shortlisted candidates will be sent a message to their registered phone number about their invitation, using which they can log in to the counselling website.
- Candidates must select their NLU preferences. A minimum of five NLU preferences is required for the candidates.
- Candidates must then pay the required fees as part of their registration process.

What to Do After CLAT 2026 Seat Allotment Results?
After CLAT Seat Allotment 2026 Results are published candidates can choose one of the following:
- Accepting CLAT Allotment 2026: Candidates can accept their allotted seats. If they accept their allotment, candidates will not be considered for further allotments.
- Applying for Further CLAT 2026 Allotments: Candidates can choose to reject their allot seats and applying for further allotments. In this option, candidates will be required to pay the prescribed allotment fee.
- Exiting CLAT 2026 Allotments: Candidates can choose to reject and exit from CLAT 2026 Seat Allotment lists. If they choose to do that, candidates will not be considered for any further allotments.
