Ans. Yes, you can get IEM Kolkata with a rank of 6k. In 2021, the closing cutoff for the IT branch was 2483-8457.  IEM Kolkata is an average college. The academics and facilities offered aren’t good for IT. Alumni of the institute who are well-established in the IT sector received the opportunities based on their talent and expertise. If you have other better options, you should choose them over IEM.  As per the recent placement highlights, IEM Kolkata average CTC was INR 5-6 LPA. You’ll also get the best infrastructure and faculty in the CSE branch.  There are considerably more opportunities here to do something unique in your field. I have seen my seniors getting placed at reputed companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Adobe, Accenture, and Infosys, to name just a few. Ans. The IT degree at IIIT Allahabad is considered one of the best in India, and it is aligned with the CSE curriculum from the best IITs and NITs in India. The professors are a mixed bag, with some highly qualified, doing good research, and teaching well, while some may be uninteresting. However, with some self-motivation, the academic landscape is quite good.  IIIT Allahabad has a great culture for programming, which can help you become a serious developer. The infrastructure is good, the campus is green, and the architecture is impressive, with the added benefit of being centrally air-conditioned. On the downside, the city life in Allahabad is not great, especially if you come from a metro city. You may experience a cultural shock. The research environment is not exceptional, and there are only a handful of students aspiring to pursue higher education. You will find yourself in a batch of more than 200 students, in which you have to create your own identity. The weather is terrible, with extremely hot summers and cold winters (although some people may like the winters). The sports infrastructure is not the most amazing one. In summary, here's the verdict: If you're interested in research and want to pursue technical education further in your career, BITS Goa may be the right choice for you. If you want a great Indian IT job after your degree, IIIT Allahabad may be the right choice for you. If you're looking for a better peer group, better girls, and a more happening city life, BITS Goa may be the right choice for you. Ans. As a former student of B.Tech IT at LPU, I can only provide information about my own college. Here are a few benefits of joining LPU for your B.Tech IT- Scholarships -  LPU offers scholarships to those who perform well in 12th grade or various entrance exams. These scholarships continue for the entire B.Tech course. This brings down the course fee for meritorious students by a great extent.  Placements-  The university performs quite well in IT placements. Companies like HTC and Cognizant visit the campus for mass recruitments, and offer decent salary packages to CSE and IT graduates. Other companies recruit a lesser number of students, but they offer handsome salary packages. For a hardworking IT student, LPU offers good placement opportunities. Faculty-  The IT faculty is decent, and some of the teachers are very good. Exposure-  LPU is home to students from various parts of the country, and thus, it offers excellent exposure. Each student gets a platform at LPU to enhance their skills and learn new things. These are some of the many reasons I chose LPU for my B.Tech IT. Read more

To get admission into NITW, you need to secure a certain rank in the JEE Mains exam.  These are the closing ranks for round 6 of JoSAA counseling to get admission into these branches at NIT Warangal, for 2023: Course Quota  Seat-Type Gender Closing Rank CSE HS Open Gender-neutral 3115 CSE OS Open Gender-neutral 2413 ECE HS Open Gender-neutral 6516 ECE OS Open Gender-neutral 5814 ECE (VLSI) HS Open Gender-neutral 7103 ECE (VLSI) OS Open Gender-neutral 7047 EEE HS Open Gender-neutral 11388 EEE OS Open Gender-neutral 9265 Out of the branches mentioned by you, NIT Warangal does not provide B.Tech IT. You can also check the 2023-2024 cutoffs of other branches and categories for NITW However, I would like to tell highlight a few things- Electronics and Electrical value your ability to remember random figures rather than polishing your technical knowledge.  The syllabus and question paper for both these courses is below par at NIT Warangal. The syllabus for them is outdated. Placements are high at NITW, but software profiles are mostly offered.  Most students start coding from their pre-final year because of low placement chances in the core companies of other disciplines.  The college infrastructure and hostel facilities may disappoint you.  Government colleges other than IIT D, B, and K are lagging behind in reality. They have subpar infrastructure and their administration is old and rigid. They offer no extra support and opportunities to their students. Ques. Which is the better option; doing computer engineering at SVNIT-Surat, Gujarat or b.tech in ict at DA-IICT Gandhinagar, Gujarat?

Ans. I am a resident of Surat, and SVNIT is very close to my house. During my college admissions, I was in the same dilemma. So I spent about a week at both the colleges to make a more informed choice. One of the professors at SVNIT suggested that I opt for B.Tech ICT at DAIICT over Computer Engineering at SVNIT. He told me that DAIICT is a better option for computer related branches. Here are some pros of joining DAIICT as a B.Tech ICT student- The placements at DAIICT are comparatively better. Though the NITs have an established brand name, the reputation of DAIICT is better than SVNIT in top companies like Amazon, Morgan Stanley, MAQ, etc. It has a greater number of GSoC qualifiers, and a better environment for Open Source Coding. The environment is superior for competitive coding as well, and students participate in great numbers in online programming contests on platforms like codeforces, etc. A large number of students prepare for exams like GRE, CAT, etc. Thus, a B.Tech ICT at DAIICT is better in comparison to Computer Engineering at SVNIT.Read more
