Admission to the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) is merit-based, involving a written entrance exam and an interview. Candidates must hold a relevant degree, such as B.Tech, Mathematics, or Statistics. ISI admits a limited number of students based on exam performance, interviews, and Bachelor's degree scores. The Delhi campus has a faculty of about 7 Ph.D.-holding professors for a cohort of 70 Master's in Statistics students, ensuring personalized attention and engagement in research.

The Master's program fee is INR 20,000 per year, totaling INR 40,000, making it affordable, especially for middle-class students, and is considered a worthwhile investment due to excellent job prospects.
