Which one is better for the long term: an MBA from IIM Shillong, IIM Trichy or SJMSoM IIT B?

IIT B is particularly known for its specialization in Operations. Although it has a decent specialization in other domains like Marketing and IT as well, it is for Operations that people usually choose it. Some consider IIM Shillong or Trichy a better option for Finance. But I personally think that SJMSom IIT B is overall a better choice. I cannot choose one between IIM Trichy and Shillong as both are at an equal level at this point. Despite being new, Trichy has managed to be in the league of Shillong. It has been growing at a fast pace and may even surpass IIM Shillong in the near future. So if I am to rank the above options it has to be SJMSom>IIM Shillong=IIM Trichy

The Overall Experience at SJMSOM

Dislikes

There in no any fixed date for Exam, they release tentative dates.
The fees of SJMSOM is too much a middle class family can not afford.

Fees and Financial Aid:

you have to pay about 717650 in the first year for MBA(Finance). and as we now that MBA is of 2 years so that we have toh pay about 14.27 Lakhs. As one of my friend belongs to SC category so he have to pay only 6.4 Lakhs for the entire course.

Life at SJMSOM

The fee structure can be found on the official website. One can take scholarship loans from banks present on campus. Scholarships are given to students who have a CGPA of more than 8 in Semester 1. Internship details can be found in the summer internship report which can be downloaded from the website.

MBA at SJMSOM

Fees were last hiked for the 2024 batch and overall it is nearly 1600000 for the whole course including the hostel. Food expense is extra and Mumbai life coats a little extra too. The scholarship is merit-based and backs provide loans as financial assistance for the institute.

SJMSOM - IIT Bombay review

The current fee structure is 348200 per semester without mess and hostel fees. Including everything it costs around 16L for 2 years. The fees were hiked just a few years back and still, it is lower than the majority of the institutes. There are scholarship opportunities for about the top 20 candidates. Apart from this, you can opt for live projects and winter internships as well throughout your tenure.

The fee hike was brutal, doubling the fees from the last batch to ours. This would be a case of large disagreement but the students are generally silent as the B.School market is highly competitive. I got no scholarship or stipend when on campus.

SJMSOM-complete insights of the Bschool

Fees structure is 363100 per semester which totals 14,52,000. Apart from this hostel and mess fees are roughly 55k per year. so the total estimated cost to study comes to around 16 lakhs. This year in 2022 only, there was a fee hike. earlier than this it was only 8-9 lakhs total tuition fees. But still, fees are less than comparative IIMs.
